Reminders (New accounts, Name Changes & More)
A few reminders!
Changing Names: Changing your username is a very simple task for any admin or supermod- it only takes about 10 seconds. Don't be afraid to ask. You can just PM a mod if you'd prefer not to post in the Hey Mods forum.
Please be patient though. It may take some time for name changes to be done even though the process is quick. Often they are done as a group all at one time, say at the end of a week.
When posting a thread asking for a name change please state your name at the time in your thread as well as your new desired name. This gives us a record in case the master "name change" thread cannot be updated right away.
New Accounts: Please do not sign up for a new account if you already have one! It takes a long time to check the ips of new account, and takes up space on the database. If you create an RPing account, please mention this in the fields, and mention your main account name as well. There are also security issues- banned members attempting to come back under anther name, etc. Checking IPs on new accounts is a long process, which is why it takes a while to get new accounts approved.
If you have made an account with us in the past, but can't remember the name, or forgot what e-mail you signed up with, just notify a staff member and we'll be happy to look it up for you. It takes much less time than approving a new account just so you can post to say "Can someone look up my old account?". There is also a "retrieve password function", in case you forget yours.
Shared IPs: We check IPs for a number of reasons, and do not approve multiple ones, unless it is stated to be an RPing account. If you share a computer or network with another user, notify the staff members so we can approve your account and not delete it as a duplicate.
We've been having a large number of multiple account registrations lately, and thought we would remind you that the staff is always here to help, and that it is much quicker and easier for everyone if you ask for help than register a new account. Thank you.
