Thanks everybody, I'm really happy to see how active (and welcoming) the board is.

Specifics:

Minnesota (I have a thing against Wisconsin-- just mostly the southern part. From there I have an evil, lying, cheating-on, money stealing, heart-eating ex girlfriend. It is a long and drama-filled story.)

Well, that remains to be seen-- Don't get me wrong, I'm hopeful and openminded right now, but without appearing too pessimistic, my most major problem with other boards/mucks is that I really, really rarely fit in any of them. It's not a problem unless people make it a problem. Some places are just really uptight about whether or not someone "belongs" (to sum up, I've never been kicked outta anywhere, but I've quit about 4 major TLK message boards and 1 muck in the past 6 months) I guess I'm "trouble".

Oh yes. I adore them hyenas. Important thing to know about me: I really don't like TLK or TLK 2 at all, and I'm kinda okay with TLK 1 1/2, but what I really like are the hyenas from the movie and the style they were drawn in, and the real-life animals as well. And the meerkats. Oh, those meerkats.

Yep indeed. I'm a rampaging BoC adorer and I love all things The Raccoons as well (eagerly awaiting the next season on DVD). Cole is a sorta rare name, so that's odd! Maybe you secretly know me.

Thanqua. That's me in Duluth just after Christmas 2005. In the parking lot of Grandma's. The place where, if you sit at a table near the wall closest to the lift bridge's gear house, you can play with the magnetized silverware. I love that place.

You'll fit in here, trust me. This place is unlike any other TLK board I've found. I stopped going to Lea after maybe two days because I was spoiled by Lilymud, the forum has a level of maturity other places don't and if differences of opinion do occur, usually problems are discussed until they're resolved.

That's good to hear, CGW-- and as you've probably guessed, yeah, Lea was one of those boards I quit. Not officially really, I just stopped going. People would raise the same old questions, share the same answers, and 3/4 of the time I'd disagree, and people would get all bent out of shape over it.

And Ulaya. I posted an article which discussed the possible negative messages in TLK and such, most of whcih I agreed with and asked for others' feedback, you know, in a really discussion-based way. People /flipped out/. They yelled and screamed and flung insults at me and the article. The best of which was "This is a stupid waste of time it's a kid's movie, only a stupid idiot would waste time taking it this seriously" A week or two later, a huge, and mark you, very /serious/ discussion got started over "WHOS THE MALE CUB AT THE END OF TLK??"

Gee, and I thought we weren't supposed to take the movie seriously enough to discuss things like that. After all, only a stupid idiot...

Lilymud is a fairly easy-going message board. I was on Lea for a while, but it was chaotic to me, I got lost easily in all the threads and discussions. Im one of the Super Moderators here at Lilymud, all you need to do is just familiarize yourself with our rules.

Anybeways, yes, Im just recently started getting into BoC. I dont consider myself too knowledgable about them or their music, but I liked what I heard, and Im keeping an eye out for any BoC vinyls I could pick up. But even their CDs are kinda hard to find around here I have found.

Yeah-- they've got tons of releases but most of them are really hard to get ahold of because they're fond of releasing just a few hundred, or just passing them out to friends and family. You shouldn't have any trouble getting ahold of their major releases-- Music Has the Right to Children, Geogaddi, and The Campfire Headphase are all good starting points for familiarizing with them (mostly Music Has The Right). And if you're still into them after all that, I recommend Twoism, A Beautiful Place Out In The Country, and if you can find it, Hi Scores. But man, seriously, good luck getting your hands on anything else. Soulseek has users willing to share stuff, but first you gotta find /them/.
