Soon enough the wide hangar doors overhead opened and the transport lowered down. At once the flight hangar as abuzz as people and dragons alike gathered their provisions and equipment before preparing to load up.
“Be careful, and bring back Jack safely,” Said Comox and he stood with Hitteki to send them off. They would be in charge of protecting the facility while they were away and there were no others that would do a better job than the two of them. Ardon knew he could always count on Comox, despite the male Boldwing often being timid in nature. He never faltered in a time of need and that was something they could bet on. As for Hitteki, the gold had full confidence that she would achieve anything she set her mind to. Despite their precautions, neither of them hoped to have to live up to their promise. An Attack on the base was the very last thing they needed right now.
“Don’t worry,” said Zyra with an air of firm confidence in her tone, “We’re not coming back without him.”
Ardon forced a smile back towards the others. Zyra’s positive nature did help to ease his worry, even in the slightest bit.
“I wouldn’t doubt it. Give whoever took Jack a little hell from us,” Comox said, a rather fiery thing for the diffident Boldwing.
“There will be hell to pay, one way or another. Make sure there’s some tea ready for when we get back,” smiled Zyra before she followed Ardon up the ramp.
Forge and Vonriir were among the last to board the transport, being the largest passengers. The dragons settled in the main hold area and once they were cleared for takeoff they could hear the engines power up. Veyron had gone up to the observation deck with Mark and the others, wanting to be in the middle of it and hear any details that might come across. While the dragon was often too nosy for his own good, this was one benefit to having him along. Most of the group had been surprised about the wraith’s willingness to come along.
Ardon looked out the window and watched as the ground slowly fell away from them as they rose higher into the sky. We’re on our way, he thought, hoping Jack would know he wasn’t alone. He must know that they were coming for him, that his dragon wouldn’t sit idly by while he was missing. Ardon stared out the window, silent and brooding.
“We’ll find him, we’ve got clues to where he could be now,” said Zyra, walking up to the gold.
The dragon didn’t respond or make any sort of movement. Zyra sat down next to him, concerned look on her face. She knew, in some way, how Ardon felt but there was very little she could do to help it.
“The team have made huge strides already…. It’s only been a few days and we already narrowed down so much when we had the entire world to consider…” she tried to say optimistically. Ardon didn’t respond again and Zyra frowned.
“Can you even hear me? Are you listening?”
Ardon turned his gold eyes to her, sad, and without their usual spark. “Sorry. My mind feels lost in a fog.” He replied. Zyra immediately felt back for getting a little irritated at his lack of response at first.
“Well find it,” rumbled Forge, having overheard, “You’ll need it if we encounter whoever took Jack.”
Ardon cast him a brief look before turning back to the window.
“Sir, cut him a little slack,” said Vonriir quietly, “He knows what needs to happen. We can’t pretend to know his difficulty with the separation, being unbonded ourselves.”
“No,” said Forge, looking away, “No we can’t, can we?”
“Don’t worry, Ardon. We’ll get him back soon enough and this feeling will go away,” Zyra said in a quiet tone.
Ardon nodded, “If we found him in the next minute it wouldn’t be soon enough.”

While there was a lull in conversation at the front of the transport, Veyron took to organizing his back of tricks that he had brought along.
He had come a long way since he arrived with that very same leather bag on his first infiltration of T5. In it he had possessed the most rudimentary of tools, stolen wallets, cards and cash and perhaps a little food. Over his time in his new home, the little dragon managed to acquire a slew of things to add to his mini arsenal. Tools of the trade, researched and purchased with great consideration. He managed to find items of lightweight but durable material. Compact screwdrivers and multitools, a blade and other items that he often found useful when getting in and out of places that otherwise wished to have no uninvited guests.
Once he ensured everything was in its place, Veyron clipped the bag closed and sat against it, waiting for them to arrive. He bit into a croissant that he had pilfered from the transports lunch room as well as a nectarine, tossing in in his paw while they journeyed on.

Jack stirred awake as his eyes fluttered open, he winced at the bright light that entered his eyes, he had to close them for a moment before opening them once more, allowing his golden eyes to slowly adjust to the light.
Jack was aching all over and soon discovered his hands and legs were tied in chains, he was dangling from a hook linked up to the chains, no wonder his arms ached so much, he also felt some pain in his neck and side.
Jack glanced to see marks on his body, his short removed, as he focussed in looking he could see what looked like holes that had been cleaned up, like syringes, some dried blood still on his skin, it appeared whoever had captured him had taken blood from him and a fair bit of it as he was feeling weak and dizzy.
Jack managed to come around to take in his surroundings, it looked like they were underground, judging by the protruding rocks out of the ceiling and walls but the rest looked advanced man-made walls with LED lighting, it looked clean and kept spotless, the only beam of light was above him perhaps to keep him disorientated to throw Jack off working out where he was.
Jack looked up and tried to get out of the chains but his arms ached too much to provide enough resistance, it seemed he been hanging there for a good couple of days and only come round now, last thing he remembered was being ambushed in London.
Soon the man heard footsteps approaching as two sliding doors opened up and men dressed in biohazard overalls came, one pressing a button to lower the pole down, he felt his feet touch the ground and his arms full of lactic acid were like jelly, unable to move as Jack wanted.
The men put the man on a chair and locked him in place, before moving off, Jack was fine sitting for now, it gave his tired limbs a rest, his mouth was dry and he wanted water.
Soon another person entered the room, a man dressed smartly and stood before the man, then another set of footsteps came, they seemed lighter than the man standing before him but Jack soon recognized the voice, it was familiar as he had heard it before.
“Comfortable?” the voice asked, it was female and one Jack knew very well.
“Maria…..ford” Jack managed to say, his words came out hoarse and gruffly as he spoke with a dry mouth combined with tiredness.
The woman looked at the man before Jack and spoke.
“See?, I told you he know me, but he has my name all wrong, Maria Ford was my cover name back in the UAE, I cannot tell you how surprised I was to hear of your escape” she said with bemusement in her voice.
Jack did not reply as he listened in, the man looked tired and it was showing quite clearly, the strong and confident man of Torchwood 5 was vulnerable and it seemed they exploited him when he was unconscious.
“Seems you have an admirer Mr Harkness, My name is Doctor Kimato, head of this facility, I believe you know my associate here, the one who brought you to us” the man said in English but held a Japanese accent.
“Where…where am I” Jack managed to say, he could not feel Ardon near and his heart felt empty, the man was a long way away from home.
“No questions, you are here to provide us with a gift, thanks to Maria here, we have obtained..unique technologies, thanks to our provider TechnologyWorld sector 013, we have technology I can only of dreamed of years ago” the man said.
Jack seemed to huff listening to the man as he did not respond to the questions.
“You probably have noticed marks on your body, while you were unconscious we have obtained a significant amount of blood samples from you, sadly we needed a fair bit of blood from you and we knew it would not come willingly” the doctor said.
“Why….” Jack managed to croak out, coughing.
“Wouldn’t you like to know” grinned the woman slyly as the Doctor spoke again.
“Enough of this, we have enough material, we just need some more DNA buried deep, once we get it then we will accelerate the process” the doctor said as he clicked his fingers as another man in a biohazard suit appeared and was carrying a large syringe.
“Go through the muscle in the back and get the sample2 the doctor instructed as the man approached.
Maria approached with a sly smile grabbing the man’s face and making him look up at her, a cruel look upon her face.
“Just imagine this pain amplified, perhaps then you understand my need for justice from you and your army of mishaps” Maria said as the Syringe was plunged into Jacks back and the man gritted his teeth but as the syringe went deeper it became hard not to cry out in pain right when it got to the man’s spine, unable to move and chain down in the chair.

The large transport trundled towards Japan, crossing over countries to reach the land of the rising sun, for most of them it would be the second time in this region but first time in Japan itself, it soon turned Dark as Melina nodded off on one of the beds along with Mark on another.
The transport was comfortable, with enough space for all of them, sadly still not enough room to stand for long as a silence was about in the hold.
Zyra looked over at Ardon as the gold suddenly lifted his head and looked alarmed.
"What is it?"
The gold began to shake slightly, feeling a phantom pain come across through the link.
The shuttle shook a little from turbulence in the atmosphere as they travelled onwards, Mark not bothered by it was still asleep in his bed.
Zyra went to fetch Melina, touching h r shoulder gently to wake her.
"Mel, Ardys feeling unwell," she explained.
Melina open her eyes and got out of bed, grabbing her medical kit nearby as she followed the bold wing across to the other side where Ardon was, still trembling and looking unwell.
“Hey, Ardon, what is the matter” Melina asked softly to the gold, as she opened her medical bag.
"I think they're hurting him..." said the dragon, turning to her, his expression a mixture or horror and anger.
Melina checked on her tablet and synced it up to the ETA from the onboard computer, they were still 4 hours away.
“Your sensing that?, from this distance?, I thought you had to be in close proximity or a few miles to even get a whisper” Melina said checking the dragon’s vitals.
"I don't know. When I was a hatchling I felt it... when he was taken on Kilara." He said, looking distressed.
"We need to hurry,"
Melina seemed concerned, the dragon had elevated adrenaline levels and seemed stressed, the poor gold was worried.
“Ardon, we are going as fast as we can, it’s a big transport ship, more comfort, less speed, we be there in another 4 hours, I can give you something to relax” Melina suggested.
"No," said the gold, getting up suddenly as he began to pace.
"Ardon," said Zyra but she knew that it was on little use. Nothing would calm Ardon down, not in a state like this.
Melina seemed a little at a loss, looking up at Forge who was observing the situation as the professor packed away her kit and petted Zyra on the muzzle.
“I best try and get another few hours Zy” Melina said with a sigh.
"There's little we can do right now," said Zyra quietly to her Attilu. "Get some rest. I'll stay out here and make sure he doesn't go jumping out of the ship."
Melina nodded and left to go back to her bed, worrying for the poor gold dragon, she thought it might be worry but she did wonder if their bond was the first, strongest and most powerful, maybe Ardon could sense far more than anyone else bonded.
"Keep your head, Ardon," said Forge, though he understood the gold's distress. Watching him pace back and forth seemed to agitate the room, however.
"I can't."
"You must," said forge firmly. "You're no use to him if you go flying into a rage."
“Can you keep it down, got another 4 hours to go, if your going to pace do it quietly” grumbled Mark hearing the young dragon pace and growl.
"Mark..." said Zyra quietly, hoping that the man would recall her earlier request for patience with Ardon.
“Urgh alright, I use ear plugs” he moaned drawing a curtain and turning out the light so he could go back to sleep, as the transport shook again due to turbulence, it would be a long flight still.

Back at the base Comox was sitting in the command center going over the large number of files they had collected in relation to Jack’s kidnapping. It was now the male’s job to search out anything that they might have missed. The Boldwing had sharp eyes and a talent for seeing minute things that might go overlooked.
He briefly raised his head, hearing Hitteki enter the room.
“Hey,” he said to her, turning back to the screen. “They should be landing soon, I think. Almost that time now. Just working on going over these recordings.” He explained.
"I do hope they be ok, it must be awful for guardian Ardon," Hitteki said to the male bold wing.
Comox nodded solemnly. The gold had been a mess. He wondered how he was going now. He must be beside himself, he imagined.
"Yeah, I know nothing about being bonded but from what they've told me it is not a nice thing to experience... being lost from your Attilu," said Comox as they went over the security footage to see if they had missed anything.
"Yeah, I can't imagine, Commander Jack and Guardian Ardon seem very close to one another2 Hitteki said sitting a little closer to Comox.
"Hm, yes," said Comox, focusing on the screen. He leaned away slightly, always the nervous sort but tried to keep busy with his task. He looked over a forty three second stretch of recording, playing over a few times as his eyes scanned the screen.
"I did notice something a little strange on the recording earlier..."
"Oh? what is that sir?" Hitteki said looking up at the screen.
"Ardon comes running out, lit up, right?" He said, pausing the video briefly to show what he meant. Ardon was frozen upon the screen, teeth barred, paused in the middle of rearing up onto his hind legs. The dragon looked like something you would never want to cross yet glorious at the same time, shimmering gold. "When your Attilu is in danger it ignites. Helps protect them I guess. Gives the wielder special abilities and such…. But when Zyra shows up she's glowing too. I don't get it. As far as I know, the dragon’s Brathille will only light "
"Oh, maybe the professor was worried and she ignited because of that worry" Hitteki suggested.
The Boldwing seemed to consider this a moment before nodding.
“Perhaps,” he said, before he moved onto the next video clip.

On the transport the dragons, save for Ardon had taken the opportunity to rest as much as they could before their arrival. The gold dragon was still pacing back and forth like a caged lion, stressed and trying to figure out what he was feeling through the link. The suggestion of pain had now subsided for the most part and there was no severering of the link itself so he had hope.
Zyra stayed close by but nothing she said or did seem to put the gold at ease.
She watched him with a worried expression, feeling his anxiety over the whole thing. She couldn’t imagine what it would be like, not knowing where Melina was and knowing she was in pain. The dragoness did her best to keep herself composed.
Just then there was a shift with the transport. Not turbulence this time, but they could feel the ship beginning to make its descent.
Veyron jumped towards the window, looking at the world below as they began to make their way through the clouds. He tilted his head slightly, taking in the sight before jumping down as Ardon came over to look. He could hear Zyra trying to talk to him while he walked over to the bunks where the humans slept. Melina seemed to be already getting up as he walked past her bunk.
"Wake up, chief," said Veyron, hopping into the edge of the mattress where Mark was trying to get some rest. “We’re nearly there.”
"Urgh, that was allot quicker than I thought, seems we have some speed on our side, my ears popped so we must be lowering in altitude," Mark said getting up.
"Yep. Getting there. Zyra is trying to rein in the golden wonder so he doesn't go shooting off the moment the doors open. The plans to talk to this woman and take it from there?"
"Yes and keep it civil and polite, Torchwood 9 is the second largest facility and the Japanese respect codes and honour among other things highly, we break that and they will not be tolerant of our presence," Mark said.
"Are you telling ME this specifically?" Grinned the wraith.
"Everyone, we must be respectful or we be kicked out," Mark assertively said to everyone.
“Geeze, not the most generous hosts it seems like,” said Veyron as he assumed his place upon Mark’s shoulder.
Forge and the others had gotten to their feet, ready to disembark as soon as they landed. It had been a few years since the silver had been to the country though the memories of this place had not been the best.
“Steady, Ardon. We’re getting there,” said Vonriir, “One step closer to getting Jack back.”
Ardon nodded, sitting as he waited, trying to do so patiently.

The large transport lowered down and was approaching Sado island, which was towards the mainland Japan, there was a small town to the south but the rest seemed like untamed woodlands, this seem to have rocky hills with mist journeying over the top.
“We must be approaching Torchwood 9, they based in Tachigahirayama, a remote area on Sado Island towards the north” Mark said to the dragons as Melina peered out the window as the transport slowed down.
“Looks pretty” Melina commented, she looked to see tall trees and there did not seem to be much human habitants where they were flying.
All of a sudden, an alert sounded as 4 white blurs shot past close to the transport, passing by the windows taking the occupants by surprise as they came around for another pass, they were fighters marked with a big red circle on the wings.
The dragons heard, then saw the fighters fly past. "Escort? Seems a bit much," said Forge.
The fighters seemed to be escorting the transport, keeping close and tracking as Melina and others observed inside.
“Mark to the cockpit” came an announcement as Mark left the others to go to the cockpit and see what the problem was and if they needed clearance.
The dragons turned to look at Mark as he was requested to the bridge.
Veyron didn't seem to budge from the man's shoulder, set to go along with him and find out what was going on.
“I wouldn’t worry about it, just usual procedure I’m guessing, I must admit I’m excited to see their base and facilities, can’t be any better than ours” Melina said jokingly, but Zyra would feel Melina being proud of her labs.
The dragoness smiled slightly. It was always interesting visiting another torchwood facility.
The transport slowed as it seemed to be approaching a high rocky hill, perhaps a high peak but it appeared the transport was heading for it.
As everyone peered out the windows there were defence turrets, one had rockets locked onto the ship and the other was a tower like structure following their move closely, it felt a little uneasy as they were allies and part of the Torchwood family of facilities, to be treated with suspicion and caution.
"Why are their defence systems locked onto us? We are allies are we not?" Said Forge with a hint of disapproval in his voice.
"Just a precaution I'm sure," Vonriir piped up.
Melina agreed but there was concern from the professor as she watched and saw the defensive structures, soon the fighters seemed to hover and then before their eyes, change into mech like vehicles, hovering with boosters.
“Wow, Zyra look at this, I’m no engineer but these fighters are double use, they fighters and mech like units, that is incredible, professor Baxter would kill to see this” Melina said.
"This all feels so much for high tech than what we have got going on back home," the dragoness replied.
Melina frowned looking at Zyra before she looked back out as the transport entered the rocky mountain, they were greeted with pure brilliant white tiles and a very open and spacious hanger, it looked pristine, no burn marks or anything on the sparkling floor.
The transport lowered its landing gear and came in to land, just as security officers and soldiers began to enter the hanger, the once fighters were now mechs surrounding the transport as all eyes seemed to be on them as the big doors to the outside world shut closed.
Mark came down from the cockpit as the transport landed to speak to the team, Veyron perched on his shoulder.
"So what's going on?" Asked Ardon as he saw Mark return.
Mark looked at the team and spoke.
“Well, we are about to be surrounded by soldiers and mechs, the woman is on her way, we also to be greeted by…their surprise” Mark said, the man looked a little off.
“Surprise?” Melina queried.
"Surprise? What surprise?" Asked Ardon? Hopeful that it could be Jack.
"Oh... a delight for your eyes kinda surprise," grinned Veyron. "It'll blow your mind."
"What do you mean?" Asked Zyra, tilting her head in confusion.
"Enough with the suspense, let's go see." Said Vonriir.
Melina took a deep breath and stood by the rear transport doors, entering a code to unlock the massive transport doors and the ramp so they could go down.
“Here we go” Melina said pressing the button as the doors opened and the ramp was deployed, soon they could see men standing in oriental style samurai uniforms pointing guns at them but, they were not alone here.
Melina gasped as her eyes came in contact with something that was impossible, or it seemed until she saw what else greeted them.
Dark scales mingled in with mint green markings, horns elegant, a lightly angled face with mint green eyes observing them closely, expression one of fiery intent but professionalism as this creature stood proudly before the Torchwood 5 team…a dragon, oriental in nature, snake like with coils, fur going along its back to a tail that swayed from side to side.
The group of dragons looked stunned at the wingless dragon before them. Forge seemed to be the only one unfazed by her presence; his critical eye was focused on the weapons drawn on them.
The Dragoness looked at them, keeping her eyes focussed on them, she spoke in Japanese as the troops moved aside allowing her to move forward.
“Who is the dragon leader of this group” she assertively said to the dragons as the humans watched cautiously as they were surrounded.
Forge would have naturally stepped forward but this was torchwood business. He looked at Ardon as the gold stepped forward.
"I am. My name is Ardon, guardian of Jack Harkness and head of the dragon academy."
The dragoness looked down at the young dragon before her, an adolescent male dragon, the female dragoness did not show much emotion as she spoke.
“Swear by your honour of your soul and code that you will be respectful, tolerant and obey our rules and code of honour while in our facility” the dragoness said.
Mark looked and listened as the dragoness spoke, the voice obviously female.
"We swear," said Ardon, dipping his head respectfully as the other dragons followed his lead. "Thank you for allowing us here."
The female raised herp aw as the soldiers lowered their weapons and most of them along with the mechs left as the sound of footsteps could be heard as a woman dressed smartly approached them, Mark knew who it was as two other people were walking with her.
A young Japanese female, smooth long hair and looked to be dressed in military or security style gear and the other was a man with jet black hair and wore small, circular spectacles, wearing a lab coat.
Mark approached and gave a polite bow as Melina kept close to the man as a few soldiers still kept close.
“Mark De Santa I presume?” the woman said as Mark nodded.
“Yes, Mark de Santa, 2nd in command of Torchwood 5, here is professor Melina Goodwin, head of medical and scientific operations at our branch” Mark said.
“Anne Summerfield, this is Commander Tahara, she is head of security and strategic operations and Dr Tatsu Muoyora, head of scientific applications here” the woman said as Mark shook their hands along with Melina as they spoke about the situation and procedures in Torchwood 9.

The dragons moved towards where the dragoness was, hoping to speak with her while the humans spoke.
"May we ask your name?" Asked Zyra kindly as the others seemed to linger and wish to hear what she might say. Veyron, however was standing up on Marks shoulder Almost looking like he was trying to stand in a regal fashion.
“My name is Asuka, I am a resident and defender of Torchwood 9, I have sworn an oath of loyalty to that cause” she said, her tone direct and professional.
“You are from the London Dragon Academy, if I am correct” Asuka asked.
"We are," nodded Ardon.
"How long have you been a resident here?" He inquired. "We had no idea there was another dragon Earth side."
Asuka tried to recall, “I have always been here, treated well and trained in the arts of this land, I see you have an array of dragons, all shapes and sizes it seems, who are the others” Asuka asked.
Zyra and Ardon exchanged a brief look at finding out she had been another dragon who hadn't come from Kilara.
"The dragons before you are the other members of facility 5. This is Doctor Zyra, bonded guardian to Professor Melina Goodwin. My site-brother, Forge and Vonriir." He said as he introduced everyone.
Asuka looked up to see Forge and Vonriir, big, bulky dragons, the female seemed to take Forge’s size up eye movements but spoke.
“You are both very impressive dragons, if I may say, I do not see many dragons here but I am use to my own company and my responsibilities” Asuka said to Forge and Vonriir.
"May I ask Why have you never reached out to the academy before?" Asked the silver.
Asuka seemed to find the question from the silver a little bizarre.
“Why would I?, there is no need, I am here doing my duty, there is no need for me to leave here” she said to the silver assertively.
"I didn't intend to imply that you should leave. Simply reach out. The academy is the central resource for dragons on earth. Ardon wishes to ensure that no one is ever without help," explained Forge.
"We like to keep in contact with our kind here, for safety reasons as well," added the gold.
Asuka did not seemed to appreciate their comments about her home.
"From what I've read on reports, it is a elite club for more...media attention dragons, plus Torchwood 5 is seen by some as the..how humans say, spoilt child of the organisation" She responded.
Ardon frowned and the others seemed a bit put off by this comment.
"Our involvement with the media is our cover story and helps promote peace and security between us and humans. As for the spoilt child aspect, I'm afraid I don't follow,"
"You get the most funds, the most support, your leader has favourite branches and does not communicate with others, until now you did not know I existed" Asuka countered, using her claws to make the points.
"You could have reached out to us just as easily," countered Ardon.
Zyra gave him to look to ensure he kept his temper reined in.
Veyron heard the tone of Ardon's voice and scampered over, brushing back his ruff he smiled up at Asuka.
"Oh I'm sure we don't mean to quarrel, especially as a host as lovely as you," he smiled. "Excuse my dear golden friend here. He's a bit out of sorts with the trouble we've had and all."
Zyra looked down at the wraith, surprised that he of all dragons was trying to be diplomatic.
Asuka mint green eyes fell upon the small wraith, he seemed more polite and diplomatic than the others, but she sensed something from she did not like but went along with it.
" Another dragon, one who knows the tongue of civility and politeness" Asuka said to the others as Veyron went on the charm offensive.
Veyron smiled at this, much to everyone's confusion. "Were all a little weary so please excuse any misstep on our part."
“It is a long way from the United Kingdom of Great Britain, I find the title of the country amusing if not a little vain, but I do like the history, it is something I like to do” Asuka said, hinting the dragon could read and write, not just in Japanese but also English.
Soon the humans came across to the dragons, there were bracelets being carried by the one staff member and Asuka grabbed the others brought on a hover truck.
“While your within our facility we expect you to adhere to the rules and customs, we also want all of you to wear these bracelets while on site, the sizes can adjust and for human and dragons, wearing them while on the base” Anne said assertively.
"Is this really necessary?" asked Ardon. The others didn't seem all that impressed to be required to wear them either.
"Standard procedure for outsiders, there is no discussion, if you refuse to wear them, then you can go back on the transport, simple as that” Commander Tahara said, not interested in their objections.
Ardon wanted to protest but Zyra touched the edge of her wing to his. He reined himself in and knew that they were their only shot at getting help finding Jack so he had to obey.
"Fine," he said, putting his on while the others followed suit.
Mark and Melina had hers as they brought one for Veyron, Mark took it and handed it to the wraith, “You too Mr, or we be walking home” Mark said to Veyron as Asuka watched them all carefully.
"How in the hell," said Veyron, holding up the bracelet. It was far too large for his wrist so he pulled it over his head like a necklace instead.
Asuka seemed to be a little amused as the wraith put it over his head.
“Keep it on at all times, please, it is now locked to you, if you don’t wear it our systems will sound off, I dislike a charming dragon as yourself get into…trouble” Asuka replied to the wraith.
Veyron winked and shot her a smile, "of course not."
Once everyone had the bracelets on, Takara seemed satisfied and gestured to the remaining soldiers to depart as Anne seemed to sign for their authorization to be on the base.
“We do have quarters for all of you in the lower levels, section B, you have that area to yourselves and have facilities there for all of you, including the dragons” Dr Tatsu said to the group.
“I don't know if we intend to stay long..." said Ardon. "But thank you. It's greatly appreciated."
“We need to locate the energy, until then we will be hosting you, we will ensure our objections are met within this organization but there are out of bound areas that are restricted access” Anne said, her professional but emotionless tone made her seem a little cold on the team.
"Fair enough," said Zyra.
"Where should we be mindful of?" Asked forge. "We would not want to intrude by mistake."
“We ensure you know, Asuka has some good flying spots to stretch your wings outside of prying eyes, we ask you stick to the area” Tahara said as Anne nodded.
“Follow us down to the lower levels” Anne said as she walked off as the others followed, Mark hung back to speak to Forge and Vonriir.
“I had to sign a declaration that you two being the big boys here be on best behaviour, so my neck is on the line” Mark said.
"We won't do anything to risk it," Vonriir assured him. Forge nodded, "we understand."
“Good, apparently there is very open and large training facilities here, oriental in nature of course but an ideal place to hone your skills while we look for Jack” Mark said.
Forge nodded. "Perhaps Ardon could let out some of his anxious energy."
Mark agreed as Anne spoke.
“This way” she said assertively as two large doors opened and a very large cargo pad was before them, this was on a slope so it would go down at a 40 degree angle.
Once everyone was aboard the doors closed, Anne hit the button and the pad lowered down, as they ventured down, Mark noticed how white and pristine all the tiles were, the lights placed to give a warm and professional look and he could see drawings of Japanese architecture on some of the tiles, so far the base impressed the American.

The London group followed as Ann and Asuka began their tour of Japan’s facility. Everywhere they went the group was met with clean lines, bright spaces and the top tech they could imagine.
"This is the main hub, as you can see we utilised the architecture of the land to sculpt a waterfall and relaxing water features" Asuka said to the dragons.
They looked around as the entered the large space. Just like the other parts of the facility, the walls were clean and white but sprinkled throughout the pristine décor, there were elements of nature intermingled about. It was a beautiful and bright space as they walked through, Zyra wondering if they could take inspiration from this place and bring it back home with them. Their own facility was rather lacking when it came to bringing in natural light and elements from the world around them apart from certain quarters.
The waterfall was the centerpiece of the room. The water trickled down the stone and filled the space with the gentle sound of water running down into a tranquil pool below it. Few people walked about, dressed sharply, going about their day, only playing little mind to their strange group.
Asuka and Ann moved on, walked passed the main, central hub. The dragons and humans followed. The whole while Ardon was tense, not wanting to wait through this tiresome tour. There was work to be done and he cared little about the features and hear about the founding of this place. Zyra could see him smouldering underneath the calm façade. She felt bad for him, her own hearts knowing the pain he was going through but there was nothing much she could do at the time.
She looked up and caught Forge’s eye. He gave a slow nod of his head, showing her that he knew the gold was tense. He was keeping an eye on him as well. Nothing much got past the silver, not that it was a secret. Ardon was a mess but he was keeping it held together during their tour. Zyra knew that he wanted nothing more than just to get down to business and work with the T9 team on finding Jack. This trek through the building was tedious and unnecessary in his eyes, that was for certain.
Forge had watched Asuka as she spoke and led them throughout the facility. She was a no-nonsense sort of dragoness, he surmised. She appeared to be calculated and precise if not a little cold compared to the warmer personalities that came out of the T5 academy.
They made their way down immaculate halls adorned with beautiful works of art, traditional and modern alike. Vonriir seemed to pause at a few of these to admire them before hurrying to catch up to the group.
They turned down another corridor and through a large doorway as Asuka stopped and watched them enter the room. The smell of damp earth met them as they looked into a beautiful glass domed room.
"Our Zen Garden for meditation and relaxation, full maintained and makes use of our size," Dr. Tatsu said showing them the massive Zen Garden, there were people there doing Yoga and some meditating.
Trees and rock gardens sprawled out under the crystal ceiling above that let in the late morning light. It was a beautiful space. Serene and peaceful, no wonder there were a number of people here enjoying the amenity.
They were soon on the move once more, going through more winding halls before they entered through large security doors. Everyone here seemed to know and respect Asuka, nodding as they led them through into the next space.
"The main command centre is based there, all operations carried out there, we can monitor the whole of Japan and neighbouring countries and can respond swiftly," Anne said as the command centre was a massive circle with lots of high tech screens.
It was an impressive sight to behold. Zyra began to wonder why they had never visited before or why they had only ever seen pictures of the front entry way.
If Asuka’s earlier words were anything to take from it seemed like the Japan facility appeared to be the spoilt child in terms of shear technological advancement and the modern structure of their building. Not a thing they had passed looked out of date or in any state of disrepair. As well as when they had been on their way in they had faced countless advanced defense systems and weapons as Melina had pointed out.
If Japan had any quarrel with the London operation is certainly wasn’t with the state of their living and working quarters.
Despite all the things that they were being introduced to, Ardon still had a steeled look on his face and he hadn’t spoken a word since Veyron had interjected upon their introduction.
Asuka sensed the young gold was tense, he had been quiet and seemed to want to be somewhere else, she noticed little things but said nothing, but keeping her eyes sharply on him.
In turn, Veyron kept his eyes turned to the dragoness. He was up to something but he kept on that ridiculous smile, chattering away, compliments this that and anything else he seemed to think Asuka was prideful of. It was bizarre seeing him go on like he was, but Forge knew better. The wraith always had something up his sleeve. There was always a trick to be played or a game to be had. What he was up to he was uncertain, however.
“Beauty of a facility you have here, Miss Asuka,” Veyron said after they concluded this portion of their tour, “Something certainly to be proud of.”

The tour around the facility was now complete, it seemed they had glamourous equipment and facilities here, Mark wondered why they felt left out or the poor cousin when they had an operation like this.
“This was to the assigned quarters. Sector B is assigned to you, this way” Anne said, her heels echoing off the floor as she led the team towards their quarters, Mark did not have a chance to get a word in as Melina kept close to her dragoness, as Asuka kept her eyes sharp on the group, as if expecting trouble.
They soon arrived at Sector B, clearly marked n the large double doors, they opened as Anne entered a code and it scanned her palm print as they opened, revealing large units for habitation, a thermal spring in the centre and around this hexagonal shaped room were the individual quarters, oddly no doors for the entrances.
Mark guessed these were converted prison cells, judging by the look and feel, the man noticing CCTV camera’s locked in bullet proof glass and also noticing the other security features around, no places to escape or hide, it seemed the old silver also noticed this too.
"This feels more like a cell than a room," said forge, not comfortable with the accommodations.
"I think you find far more comfortable than a cell, we need to mitigate any risks to our facility" Takara answered, unimpressed with the criticism of their quarters.
"What is it that you think that we, your allies, are going to do? We are here to safely bring back our commander, not loot the place," said Ardon.
Anne answered soon after Ardon made the comment, the cold looking woman seemed to have that cold and emotionless demeanour and it seemed to echo round the base.
"And yet, you brought two large warlord dragons here with you, perhaps next time bring less dragons" Anne interjected, gesturing to Forge and Vonriir.
"Whoever took Commander Harkness is not fooling around. Especially since he was taken in the presence of dragons. We come as a precaution," forge assured her.
"I'm... I'm no warlord miss," added Vonriir with a half-smile.
“Regardless” Anne said as a silence was left between them both, Mark wanted to at least calm down the situation, this would get them nowhere.
“Look, we just want to get our commander back and we are asking..nicely for your help and assistance.” Mark said in his attempt to be diplomatic.
The woman looked at him and replied.
"We are looking into the energy spike, we are awaiting further information, in the meantime you can all rest in Sector B" Takara said as Mark gestured for people to simmer down.
The dragons grew quiet. Not happy but understanding they had to follow the rules.
"Thank you miss Asuka," said Veyron. "We appreciate it."
Asuka looked down at the wraith and gave a small smile, before looking at the other dragons with distain at their disrespect and insult at not finding the quarters acceptable.
"Least someone in your group appreciates us opening my home to you all, do the dragon academy not teach manners and respect?" Asuka said coldly.
"We are, I assure you. Things are just a little different back home and this has been a challenging time for us all," forge tried to say in his calm tone of reason.
Forge’s act of diplomacy seemed to make the cold hearted woman lower her cold demeanour as she spoke a little softer.
"We will ensure we obtain Commander Harkness back from whoever has him Captive, we appreciate this is frustrating to some of you but we are working on it, in the meantime settle in here and we shall come to collect you all tomorrow at 0600 hours local time" Anne said to the group.
Ardon and then other nodded, replying with their half-felt thanks.
Veyron, however didn't cross the threshold into their quarters, simply standing in the doorway after their hosts left but Asuka remained to ensure everyone was in.
"I don't like this," said Ardon.
"Me either but we have to live with it for now if we want Jack returned to us." Replied forge.
Asuka noticed the wraith hanging by the main doors.
"You too little dragon, inside past the door please" Asuka said noticing the wraith's reluctance.
The wraith was throwing out the charm as he spoke, "I've had a few bad run ins with captivity and don't do well behind locked doors. Call it ptsd or something. We have our tracking bracelets on. Could we... or could I be so bold to ask that the door stays open if I promise on the behalf of my team that we stay on the proper side of the threshold?" He asked kindly of her. He looked up at Asuka with the best innocent look his mischievous green eyes could muster.
Asuka smiled back and lowered her head to the wraith, keeping the smile as she leaned in and spoke quietly.
"Oh you charming dragon in that case....." she lifted her head up and looked down at the wraith.
"The answer is No" she said shortly after.
Veyron didn't look put off by this answer, "No mercy from a stunning dragoness like you? Ah well, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask," he said, winking at her.
Asuka gave him a look as the doors closed shut, the door seemed to be locked and a glowing lattice enveloped the doors, it sparkled and twinkled a blue colour.
"Hey that is cool" Mark said as he flicked his pen at it and the pen bounced off it.
"Seems we are secure for the night then" he commented.
Veyron caught the pen. "Yeah. I don't like it."
"What was that all about, you weird little creature?" Asked Zyra.
"This weird little creature took a shot. At least I tried not to get us trapped in this box, didn't I?" He retorted.
“He tried, I got to give Veyron credit, but I think is just like Anne, cold hearted and calculating, your wasting your time charming her” Mark said to the wraith.
“Well apart from little privacy, least its comfy, I’m glad I brought some swim wear” Melina said gesturing to the thermal pool, the professor trying to be positive and hopeful.
"Being a dragon she should be fully aware that containing one isn't the best route," said Forge, sitting down.
"She is probably just trying to protect her home, as she said. We ARE a little daunting in a group." Said Vonriir.
“I find her very pretty dragoness, very unique design, plus shes been trained and only knows Anne’s teachings, I mean for me nice to have another female dragoness on earth, too much testosterone “she lightly joked.
"Yeah, nice for me too," snickered Veyron, jumping up to marks shoulder and handing him back the pen he threw.
Zyra shook her head at him.
As the team got settled in their quarters Mark grinned at the wraith.
“You got your eye on her eh?, you chatting her up, little does she know you’re a very sly and mischievous dragon” Mark laughed.
Veyron grinned. "Side project. Getting on her good side couldn't hurt our cause anyway."
Mark nodded lightly as he settled in his quarters.
“Be careful, she is switched on and sharp, I hate for you to get in hot water with her, that Anne might say chop you up for sushi” Mark replied.
"Sushi is made out of fish, Marky Mark. Not dragon," replied the wraith. "Don't worry, I'll watch my step."
“Good, or I be served crispy shredded wraith with chilli” Mark said sitting down on the bed.
"We will all be mindful while we are here," said forge, more of an order than an assurance.
The others nodded in agreement.
Melina put the quaint kettle on a flame and got out the mugs in her quarters ,finding all the delectate pottery intriguing.
“Did you fancy a Japanese herbal tea Zy?” Melina asked the bold wing.
"I'm alright, Mel. Thank you," said the dragoness, laying down on the floor.
Melina petted her muzzle gently.
“We get him back, don’t you worry, despite the frosty reception, we find him and Ardy will be back to the goof ball we know and love” she said, reassurance in her voice as the others settled into their quarters.

Zyra nodded to the woman’s words. It was difficult seeing Ardon in such a state. She understood the pain he was feeling, not having Jack around and not knowing where the man was. The dragoness couldn’t begin to imagine, however, dealing with the turmoil of knowing Jack was in pain yet be trapped here unable to help.
Zyra turned her head and saw that Ardon had stopped pacing and was now laying by the pool on the warm stones. His eyes were closed but the dragoness somehow knew that he wasn’t sleeping. Ardon had taken to these meditative states, as if he was searching for some trace or hint of where Jack was through their link.
She remained in the open quarters that Mel had picked out. They looked across into Forge and Vonriir’s rooms. This indeed was a strange space to be given. Zyra knew how the others felt about the space. Being locked in was not a good thing for any dragon. Feeling trapped made dragons feel anxious and often quarrelsome.
Zyra sighed and put her head on her paws as she looked out of her and Mel’s quarters. The place was pristine and mostly white, just like the other areas of the facility. In the center of the room, however was the bathing area; a hot pool surrounded by river rock. Beside the entrance from which they had entered, there was another, smaller room that was their shared facilities.
Forge and Vonriir lay in their side by side quarters but stuck their forequarters out to talk quietly amongst themselves. Being in such a secure room with this much surveillance it went unsaid that they would have to watch what they said. Allies or not, T9 was not treating them as equals so they would be careful of the things that were said in their quarters. They obviously had to be careful and tread lightly around their hosts.
Thinking it would benefit her to get some sleep; the Boldwing let out a breath and closed her eyes, trying to catch some rest in this strange place.
In the room beside hers was Mark’s and by default, Veyron’s. There was no separate accommodation for the little dragon but even if there was, perhaps the wraith would have abandoned it. He may have had eyes for Asuka but being trapped was his least favourite thing he could imagine.
He sat at the foot of mark’s bed, frowning. He seemed a bit off and had been that way since the door closed behind them after Asuka denied his request.
"What's the matter with you, no room service trolley?" Mark said, looking at the wraith.
Veyron turned to the man with an unimpressed look, “I don’t like being locked in. Knowing I can’t get out drives me a little nuts. Being stuck in a three foot terrarium for months does that to a dragon,” said the wraith, scratching his neck.
"I thought you were only saying that to get that dragoness to leave the door open, did not know you were serious," Mark replied sitting up.
"A bit of both, really," said Veyron, not one to admit such things. He had asked for the possible benefit for the group but as more often than not, there had been an underlying, more selfish reason as well.
"Well they said the doors will open again at 6am, what time is it now?" He asked.
Veyron leaned off the bed and craned his neck so he could see the communal clock on the wall outside their room.
“11:03pm,” he huffed, “Well, might as well sleep away the hours if we can,” he said, curling up at the end of the bed.

Eventually everyone fell asleep after some time. It was difficult getting proper rest in a strange place when everyone was on edge but it was something they needed to get them through to finding Jack.
Zyra woke early, the digital clock at the top of their large space in the common area said 3:55am. She rubbed her eyes and blinked, adjusting to the dark of the room. She turned and saw Melina still sleeping on the bed behind her. The gentle rise and fall of her breathing let the dragoness know all was well with her Attilu in the early morning hours.
Looking out into the common area, she could see Forge and Vonriir across from her, sleeping and quiet. Vonriir was snoring slightly, and she realized his thundering was what likely woke her. Turning her head to the pools she could see the golden shape of Ardon, not having moved since he laid down hours ago. Zyra gave a sad frown and slowly got to her feet as quietly as possible.
As she walked out into the middle space between all their quarters she saw the glint of green of Veyron’s eyes at the foot of Mark’s bed. He looked at her briefly, as if assessing the noise of her steps before closing them again and shifting, pulling Mark’s discarded jacket over himself.
Zyra walked over to Ardon and his eyes opened at her approach but he did not look at her. She could see a streak across his muzzle where a tear had traced its way and felt a pang in her chest. Zyra sat down beside him. After a moment she put her paw on his shoulder.
“Ive said it a million times already but we will find him. I know it,” she said quietly.
The gold nodded slowly but made no other movement.
“Oh Ardy, I’m sorry for all of this.”
“It’s not your fault,” he said in a gravelly tone.
“I know… it’s just… I don’t know.”
She laid down beside him and rested her chin on his shoulder in some small show of comfort despite the openness of their accommodations.
“I’ve seen you nearly tear down the world for not only Jack but all of us too. No one is going to get in your way when we find out where he is. You won’t be alone either. You’ll have all of us too,” she told him.
“Thank you, Zy,” was the gold’s reply.
The two of them lapsed into silence as they tried to catch a little more sleep before their hosts came to fetch them.

Ardon wasn't quite sure if he was asleep or seeing things but something began to appear before him. Jack, chained up in a chair, ragged holes and spots of blood in his clothing. He was alive but looking rough and the dragon couldn't tell where he was.
Jack seemed asleep or unconscious as Ardon’s vision seemed to zoom in on the man, soon Jack opened his eyes and looked up, he seemed to lock eyes with Ardon even though he was not with the gold, the man’s eyes seemed to brighten slightly as he gave a puzzled look.
“Ardon?” he called out.
Ardon snapped awake, calling Jack's name, startling Zyra.
"Ardon what is it?" she asked, realizing the gold was glowing slightly. "Are you okay?"
"A dream.. or a vision.... I saw him, Zy. He's chained up and ... he’s not looking good. He was calling for me," the dragon said, panic rising in his voice.
Melina was awake as it was nearly time for them to be released from their curfew, she noticed and felt Zyra worried as she came over noticing the dragon was glowing lightly.
“Ardon?, are you alright there?” Melina asked the gold as others seemed to come out of their quarters hearing Melina’s concerned tone of voice.
"I could see Jack, he's hurt and chained up somewhere. I couldn't see where though," explained Ardon.
"A vision I think. He's glowing so Brathille must be linking them somehow," said Zyra.
Melina nodded in agreement.
“Must be Brathille’s way of trying to link you both up again, I never heard of visions before, Forge spoke to someone who knew a bit of legends of Brathille but I can’t remember anything about visions” Melina said as Mark came over with Veyron on his shoulder.
“Everyone alright here?” Mark asked.
“Ardon’s had a vision, Brathille seems to be igniting at random spurts it seems” Melina said as Mark seemed a little concerned.
"I couldn't tell where he was though. It was dark. All I could see was him chained to a chair." said Ardon. "The link is stronger so he must be here, somewhere in Japan."
"It's not much but perhaps if we share it with our hosts it might help us find him faster." suggested Forge.
Mark agreed as he checked the time on the wall, it would nearly be 6am and they would be fetched for breakfast.
“I think if you have another vision, try and see if the haze will clear, it might help us narrow down the search, I think its best to get some food down you and then we see what they have for us” Melina suggested to the gold.
Ardon gave a little nod but felt sick to his stomach, seeing Jack in such a state. He didn't think he could actually keep any food down if he tried.
Soon the force field powered down and the doors opened, Anne, Takara and Asuka were standing there.
“Good morning I trust you slept well” Anne said as Asuka seemed to noticed the golden dragon’s scales dim from faintly glowing gold.
"Well..." Started Zyra.
"Ardon, the dragon bonded to our lost commander has had a vision," explained Forge.
Ardon went on to explain exactly what he saw. "Does any of that help?"
“Anne folded her arms as Takara replied.
“Not really no, without any details that we can track, nothing, visions aside we been working on attempting to narrow the search area down of the energy spike, we also awaiting a report from our spies in the Yakuza” she said.
"Is there anything we can be doing to help?" asked Forge, not enjoying the waiting game they were forced to play
“Not particularly, unless you fancied being shot down by the Japanese air force for tearing up the lands in search for Commander Harkness, I can assure you my team is working efficiently to locate your man” Anne said.
Ardon frowned but tried to keep his voice calm and level, "What are we to do then?"
“Letting us do our job would be a start, maybe you go off showing off in Torchwood 5 but here we do things methodically and efficiently, we do not waste time and energy” Takara said coldly, not impressed with the dragons demands for answers.
Ardon wanted to growl at her and counter what she had said but the touch of Zyra's tail on his reminded him that they had to be on good behaviour.
"We are doing what you've asked," said Forge with a bow of his head.
Vonriir cast a look over to Mark, their interim leader to see what he'd say.
“Ardon has every right to be concerned, we are trying to be diplomatic but I am seeing allot of restrictions and bull****, if you want to help us, stop treating us like strangers or foreigners, we are part of the same organization, Jesus, you’re as bad as the FBI and CIA” Mark said.
Veyron was surprised but gave marks shoulder a subtle pat of approval to his tirade.
The other dragons were quite a moment before they also nodded in agreement.
"We appreciate you helping but this has been a truly bizarre Way of working with allies." Said forge.
The senior Torchwood 9 staff look unimpressed and looked upon them with distain.
"Seems the offer of a breakfast will fall on deaf ears, you really are all insulting our hospitality" Anne said in reaction to Marks speech.
Ardon threw his wings up in the air and shook his head in a display of frustration, unable to contain it any longer.
"It seems to me that from the moment we asked for help you agreed but only if we sit quietly in a box where you can watch us. No privacy or doors and no trust despite us being from the same organization. Pretty much expected to sit down and shut up in our time of need. Now tell me how that seems reasonable? If you came to us for help and we treated you this way would you be really singing our praise?" The dragon sounded at his wits end but was trying to be civil.
Anne gestured to them to follow, as the stone faced woman seemed unimpressed by the dragon’s attitude as the senior team walked off, Asuka kept close but peered back at the dragons.
“Nice going Ardon, they probably going to show us the door” Mark said, yet his own rant did not win over many admirers.
"well, it was either say something or sit meekly doing nothing and submitting to them." Grumbled Ardon.
Veyron had sprinted up ahead to catch up with Asuka.
"Miss... asuka, where are we going... if I may inquire. I apologize on the behalf of my team if any transgression has been made."
Asuka looked down at the small wraith dragon and gestured to the wraith to come on up for a lift, seeing he had to sprint to keep up with her.
Veyron jumped and clambered up to her head between her antler like horns.
"Much appreciated." He said, trying to hold back the panting of his breath.
“You are a very fit and athletic dragon Veyron, to keep up with us is a challenge, you seem to do exceptionally well” Asuka said, little did she know as Mark heard the conversation and tried not snort of smirk in a fit of laughter.
"We train hard at the academy," explained Veyron. "It seems you do to here if my quick observation is correct." He said using a bit of flattery.
“We do indeed, I do train regularly, I have a schedule so at 0900 hours I be in the Nagasaki training arena” Asuka said as Mark muttered under his breath, “Veyron works hard at drinking” he chuckled to himself as Melina seemed to be holding back a chuckle hearing Mark.
"Well it certainly shows, if I may be so bold," grinned the wraith.
Beside Melina Zyra pulled a face at the wraiths blatant flirting.
"Training regimen, speaking multiple languages and the sworn protector of an entire facility, you are quite remarkable, miss Asuka."
Asuka looked back and smiled, “Perhaps you could join me if you promise not to run off and hide or get up to trouble or id have to lock you in a box, wouldn’t not do your phobia any good” she said as a subtle warning to the wraith to not try anything funny.
"Me, run away? Not when there's a beauty like you nearby." he smirked. "No, you have my word. I wouldn't vanish." he said, crossing his heart with a motion of his paw.
The team seemed to enter a very large conference room, bigger than a cinema as the dragons piled in, Vonriir had to duck and get his spikes through as Anne gestured to Takara who typed in a command and a map of Japan appeared.
Anne stood in front of the dragons and the team as the screen scanned over the northern part of Japan.
“Our sensors detected an energy spike situated in this northern area, which stretches for long miles, before our systems detected it, we lost the spike signal, however we have been looking for any residual energy and here” Anne gestured to the map as red dots lit up on the map.
“These are Yakuza operations in the area, we are hoping to get information from our operatives today, as well as results from our spy drones” Anne explained.
Takara added her two cents, “As you can see we have not sat around doing nothing, we have been busy trying to find your commander” she said.
Ardon let out a breath, "I know... thank you. It's just difficult sitting on the side-lines."
"See?" said Veyron, "Look at facility 9 go. With their help we'll get Jack back in no time."
The meeting seemed to take a bit of a turn to the worse.
“We know that you don’t sit on the side lines, we have been watching” Anne said as the massive screen brought up photos from the media on the dragons, including photos of Ardon in New York after he killed Cayman. Forge looking angry and bloody, as well as Zyra looking aggressive with media headlines under them.
Ardon cringed inwardly as he remembered that day. The media had been a frenzy and the gold had to deal with being seen as something capable of killing in the eyes of the public. It had been immensely difficult but something that needed to be done.
"Cayman would have killed a great many more people if Ardon had not intervened," said Forge calmly.
“I thought we show you what we had uncovered, due to what we seen and observed, we have done things our way, although slower than your methods it yields results, we will bring Commander Harkness kidnappers to justice, but I hope this has rescinded some of your doubts about us” Anne said.
Ardon gave a shallow nod, "Yes, we just want to be treated as the allies we are during this process, not like we are a danger to you or your facility."
Takara seemed to look at Anne and then she spoke.
“We will not lock your door at night, but certain areas will be out of bounds past 2200 hours, we will have them shut, ensure you wear your bracelets, including you little dragon” Takara said pointing at the wraith assertively.
Veyron put his paws up in the air, "what's with all the suspicion. I haven't taken it off for a second." He said, tapping it around his neck with a Talon, "just like I said I would."
"We appreciate this," nodded Forge. "Thank you."
“Well then, do you still want breakfast?, Asuka has her training in a few hours and I like her to be fed” Anne replied to the group.
"Yes, that would be lovely, thank you," said Zyra as the others seemed to nod in agreement.
Anne nodded lightly.
“Good, please follow us, we do have a separate area for us and for the dragons, so, this way” Anne said as the team followed her, her heels echoing on the pristine white floor.

Zyra gave Melina a quick look before hastening her pace to catch up to the deep purple dragoness.
"Asuka, you said you do training here, could I ask what that involves? She inquired with a kind tone.
"She's set the bar too high, Zyra, if your asking in hopes to catch up to what this lovely dragoness has already achieved." Said Veyron.
Asuka looked up at Veyron then back at Zyra, “I train to ensure I am focussed and switched on for any task I am called upon, before I train I meditate and do a dragon style of Yoga” Asuka said.
“Oh, we got a dragon version of Yoga, me and Zyra do it together” professor Melina said overhearing.
“Then, I invite you after breakfast to attend, I usually practice alone or with Takara but I can show you” Asuka replied back.
"We'd enjoy that," said Zyra, hoping that they could further get onto the dragoness' good side. "Thank you."
Asuka nodded as Anne led them to the canteen.
“I think when Jack is back we should decorate our facility” Melina said to Mark who nodded lightly, he was feeling hungry and he was pretty sure they did not do, English breakfasts here.

Back at the London facility Comox and Hitteki were finally released from duty for the day. The dragons had been working hard but the team found themselves at dead end after dead end. It was a long and frustrating process but every member of the T5 branch would go to great lengths to get their commander back.

Comox was falling asleep over his food in the canteen, having stayed up late nearly every day since Jack’s disappearance. His dinner sat on the plate, with only one meager bite taken out of it while the Boldwing propped his chin up with a paw. His eyelids drooped despite his best efforts in trying to fight off sleep.
“Coffee?” asked a voice. Comox opened his bright yellow eyes and looked down to see Toby standing by him holding a pot of coffee up in offering.
“Oh, thanks Toby, but I shouldn’t. After I eat I’m going to catch some sleep if I can. I don’t need anymore caffeine than I’ve already had.” He replied.
Toby nodded, “Looks you’re already getting in your 40 winks in now.”
“Heh, yeah. Been working all night,” the dragon yawned, displaying rows of sharp teeth and the flash of yellow of his tongue. Toby stepped back away and smiled, “Well eat up and have a good rest, young dragon.”
“MMhm,” he hummed back, already closing his eyes again.
"I think you need your bed guardian Comox, you nearly went head first into your meal," Hitteki said suddenly. It had felt like he had only closed his eyes for a second but it had to be far longer than that.
His eyes snapped open and he straightened up, realizing she had appeared while he had nodded off again.
“Ugh, yes. It’s taken me…” he paused and looked at the clock, “Oh stars, I’ve sat in front of my plate for half an hour now and have been trying to stay awake most of it.” He rubbed his muzzle with a paw.
"Well you best sleep then" She chuckled lightly.
The Boldwing nodded and ate a few quick bites before putting his plate away.
“Later, Hitteki. I’ll be up for the next shift. Get someone to call me if something comes up,” he yawned before dragging himself off to his quarters to get some shut-eye.

At the T9 facility the dragons walked to one side of the large room while the humans sat at tables on the other side. It seemed that everything on the dragon side was made to appropriate size.
Forge and Vonriir took up the rear, following behind, though the silver warlord kept a sharp ear should he hear anything that might be a cause for concern. He may not have been truly bonded but he cared just as much as the bonded in their group.
Zyra walked slightly behind Ardon as they followed Asuka towards their gallery. There might not be anything to worry about here but he wasn’t going to take any chances.

Ardon felt talons scurrying up his scales and realized that Veyron had left his post on Mark’s shoulder to join them as well, likely to continue his suave words to their host. It was strange to see him speak to her with such proper speech. If anything, Ardon would have guessed that the wraith would have been far more crude, but perhaps he was trying to work some magic by hiding his usual personality. He guessed that Asuka would squash him flat if she knew how the wraith normally acted.
The dragons sat along a long table and waited patiently as they were offered tea and water before their meal came out. Everyone was fairly silent, unsure of where to begin conversation after so many awkward and tense starts.
Veyron was the only one who seemed to be more at ease. He sat on the table beside the purple dragoness and chatted away.
“So what do we have cookin’?” he asked her.
"Our breakfasts are different to what you maybe use to, the Itamae are very good" Asuka said.
“I’m sure we’ll love it,” said Veyron as they saw staff walk out with dishes of food.
Ardon looked down at the plate put in front of him. The foods on it, while they looked good, did not seem to line up with what the dragon had come to accept as breakfast foods.
Rice, grilled fish and an assortment of vegetables sat in front of him. The others in the group seemed a little curious about the meal but did not linger long enough to have their hosts question their thoughts about the food.
“Ardon, you should eat. You might need it,” whispered Zyra.
“I know,” said Ardon, fighting that awful feeling in his stomach before he forced some of it down, much to the disdain of his lack of appetite
The dragons tucked into the food. Forge recalled the familiar flavours when he went to Japan the last time. As he ate he sunk into a deep reflection about that time.
“Mm, light and the right kind of savory,” noted Zyra, her preferred meals were ones that weren’t coated in grease or deep-fried.
Veyron was quick to make his comment a little louder, drawing Asuka’s attention.
“Delicious. I haven’t had a breakfast like this in ages. Our own chef back home should take a lesson or two from your staff,” Veyron praised after her finished his meal.
"I am pleased you approve, I hear western food is different but I enjoy the different textures and fish," the dragoness said.
“Quite a bit different, but lots of things to enjoy if you give them half a chance,” Veyron said as he smirked up at her.

The Japanese chef brought out the meals for the team, chop sticks placed delicately on white serviettes as the food was in portions on different plates, Melina enjoyed trying different foods and loved the lay out.
Mark however, the man use to his greasy English fry ups was unimpressed by what he saw, to him vegetables only belonged on a roast dinner, not for breakfast, Melina gave him a look and subtle gesture to tuck in and not to be rude.
“Problem Commander De Santa?” Anne asked as Mark looked up at the woman.
“No, of course not, looks devine” the man lied, “umm a knife and fork would be helpful” he asked as one of the chefs brought him the cutlery as he tried to see what was edible, no coffee either only green tea offered and the man already was dreading what was for lunch.
Veyron turned to survey the others and noticed Marks lack of enthusiasm for the meal. The wraith snickered to himself in amusement.
“The food is delicious, thank your chefs Anne” the professor said as Anne merely nodded.
“You find excellent Japanese cuisine here, our facility has the best, we ask for the best and we give the best” Takara said finishing her meal.
“I can see” Melina commented.
Anne noticed Mark had barely touched his food and was studying it more than considering to eat it.
“Your meal not to your liking” Anne asked, giving the man a judgemental look.
“Not really hungry, thanks” the man said.
Meanwhile it seemed the dragons had enjoyed their portions as the steel slabs with the food on were taken away by hovering platforms and moved away from the table.
"That was a good meal. The delicious fish reminds me of the ones you can catch by the shoals at Eastspire, don't you think, forge?" Said the crag back.
"Yes, a little reminiscent of them," nodded the silver.
Asuka looked up at the time and stood up, “It is almost time for my meditation and Yoga practice, it is something I do daily after breakfast” Asuka said to the dragons.
"May we still join you?" inquired Zyra as Veyron also looked eager to tag along.
The dragoness looked a little surprised at the dragon’s eagerness to accompany her on the usual routine she did.
"I was not aware you guys showed an interest in our ways of relaxation and inner peace" Asuka said.
"Well, as my Attilu mentioned before, we do from time to time," said Zyra
Asuka was quiet for a moment before nodding her angled head lightly.
"Well invite her, I'm sure she appreciate it , it's a great experience" the dragoness said.
Zyra nodded and went to fetch Melina.
"Would you mind if I caught a lift again?" Asked Veyron, sauntering up to Asuka
The dragoness smiled “Of course Veyron” she said Asuka offered her paw for the wraith to climb on so he wouldn’t have to walk.
Veyron jumped up after a polite half bow as Zyra turned with Melina
Melina and Zyra arrived back as Asuka led the way, leaving Mark and the others in the canteen, Forge keeping close to Ardon as the others went to the meditation area, when they walked in it was an area of peace and tranquillity.
Water came through the rock and meandered past rocks into a babbling stream, the water echoed in the area, a beautiful Zen Garden with Sand, plants another other colourful decoration, wind chimes dangled from an oriental themed wooden hut which jungled from the light breeze allowed in through the base ventilation systems.
“I do an hour of meditation and Yoga in here, all adapted for dragons, Anne and Takara devised the program and designed this place” Asuka explained.
"How lovely," said Zyra as they stepped into the room.
"Nice," said Veyron, only half paying attention to the room itself.
Asuka looked up to where the Wraith was on her neck, the dragon kept on her good terms, complimenting her making Melina lightly shake her head, he was trying way too hard compared how she knew the wraiths true nature.
So Veyron you do meditation and yoga in your facility, you said you all train hard" Asuka asked as Melina nudged Zyra about the wraith being a suck up.
Zyra stifled a smile. It was funny watching the wraith act this way. He was obviously enamoured but they knew him better than the facade he displayed.
"Well, yoga not so much but the Prof here does run us a mean circuit," he said, gesturing to the woman with his thumb. "Isn't that right, Professor? Pretty impressed with my last results hm?"
Melina gave him a look.
"Oh yes, Veyron was very impressive last time, he aced the weight training, I'm sure he love to show you Asuka" Melina said with a sly smile.
The dragoness seemed genuinely impressed, seeing humans weight train in the human gyms in the facility.
"that is impressive, you have to show me your amazing skills" Asuka said with a smile, unaware of the whole story.
"Maybe some other time. I don't want to interrupt your meditation and what not," he said casually but glared at Melina when Asuka wasn't looking.
Melina stuck her tongue out comically as Asuka guided them to some large mats near the zen garden and offered the others to take their spots.
“Here, we will mediate and relax, this is how I spend my mornings finding peace and balance” Asuka said getting into a relaxed position, even Veyron took up a relaxed sitting position nearby.
Melina did the same crossing her legs as she sat down, closing her eyes and taking in nice, deep breaths as the room got silent.
The 4 of them sat in silence, taking in deep breaths and listening to the sounds of the stream, the chimes and the quiet of the chamber, it was relaxing and something Melina wished she could do more of in Torchwood 5, it would so help complete her transformation since being bonded, she knew Zyra enjoyed these moments too.
Finally the dragoness spoke softly, opening her eyes gently.
“Now, we move onto Yoga, where peace of the mind and now the body can exist hand in hand, meditation helps prepare our mental state” Asuka said, Melina nodded as she took up her yoga pose and began as the dragoness began her smooth, gentle motions.
Zyra found a spot where she had room and started into the fluid movements that Melina had taught her, adapted for dragons.
Veyron, on the other hand, had never participated so watched her a moment to see what he should be doing before he attempted it himself.
Asuka took up a pose and looked down to see Veyron taking part.
"I am impressed Veyron, such good movements" Asuka said softly as she did her practiced moves in a smooth motion.
"Lots of practice," replied the wraith as he mimicked Zyra
Melina had a smile on her face, trying not to roll her eyes at the sucking up the wraith was doing, she saw Zyra noticing the wraith mimicking her movements.
Zyra rested her paws and forearm up to her elbow flat on the floor. Slowly she brought her back legs and hind quarters up off the ground, balancing gracefully as her wings fanned out around her.
Veyron watched her a moment and figured he could easily do that as well.
He put his paws down and tried to lift his hind quarters off the ground. As long as the serpentine little wraith was, he did not possess the same centre of gravity as Zyra and wobbled quite a bit as he tried to stay stable. His method looked a little awkward but he managed to hold it.
"That's.... an interesting way to do that pose," smiled Zyra.
Asuka agreed with the bold wing’s assessment at the Wraiths attempt.
"Bold pose Veyron, core strength needs a bit of tuning but the effort is appreciated" Asuka said softly.
"Heh," was Veyron’s reply as he moved into an easier pose, fanning out his wings and displaying the bright streaks of red.
The dragons and Melina continued their Yoga practises, it was nice for everyone ot bond with this young dragoness who seemed worked to a strict schedule as she finished her practice, looking up at the digital clock on the wall.
“It is time for my training in the arena” Asuka said getting up, ending the yoga practice as the others got up from the mats.
"Is this part of your daily routine?" Inquired Zyra.
"It is yes, I need to be sharp and ready, I usually train alone" Asuka said.
“Seems a strict timetable for you” Melina commented.
“Keeps me on point” Asuka said as Melina nodded lightly, understanding.
"I wouldn't mind coming along and seeing how you train. Maybe I could try as well?" said Zyra, thinking it would be a good opportunity to see what this dragoness was capable of.
Asuka nodded.
"Of course, I would appreciate a change in my routine, I must warn I do tend to how do the humans say.. play rough?" she replied to the bold wing.
Melina leaned in to Zyra after Asuka made the comment, as Veyron climbed up to her again now they were on the move.
"So can you” whispered Melina to Zyra.
Zyra smiled at her, "I can handle it."
“Please this way” Asuka said leading them to the training arena nearby, it was definitely large enough to train the dragons and for others to also train, Melina noticing armour and samurai swords as well as kendo sticks hung up the one side.
Asuka gestured to Zyra to take her place before her in the middle of this arena.
The bold wing dragoness stood on her mark and looked up. "What are you rules?"
Asuka though for a moment as Veyron sat at the side to watch the females practice spar.
"I shall say Pin to floor or signal submission by a tap or to call out, I hope this is acceptable, no flame please" Asuka said.
"That won't be a worry from me. I am not a fire breather," she said. "But I accept your rules." There was a slight hesitation in her voice. Asuka was bigger and far longer from nose to tail than her.
Asuka nodded and bow before the bold wing as a mark of respect between two warriors, an old Japanese tradition.
Zyra mimicked the bow in one fluid motion. She rose back up to her feet and nodded, letting Asuka know she was ready.
“Let us begin” Asuka said as Melina sat near Veyron as they watched, Melina quietly watching knowing Zyra was strong but the size of Asuka gave her an advantage.
There were a few cautious moments as the two circled, keeping limber and light on their feet as both dragons danced looking for a window of opportunity.
Asuka went first as she went to get Zyra.
The bold wing dragoness dodged the eastern dragon’s attacks deftly, dashing out of the way fluidly.
Asuka was impressed as once more they circled, one another.
Veyron hopped into the professor’s shoulder for a better view of the match. It looked more like a dance than a fight but was stunning to watch.
Zyra pounced after Asuka but her paws met empty air. She spun around on a dime and shot off after her.
Asuka moved in a fluid motion and soon her coils seemed to wrap around the cream scaled dragoness as she was brought to the ground in a fluid motion, Asuka brought Zyra down wrapped in her scaled coils as she held Zyra down for a pin.
Zyra kicked and struggled, attempting to get the coils off her.
Asuka grit her teeth as the dragoness tried to get out the coils wrapping Zyra up tightly, binding her wings and limbs as Asuka held her down.
Zyra twisted and arched her back in a lightning quick motion, getting her forequarters free. She continued to fight being pinned completely by the remaining coils.
The struggle was unlike anything Melina had seen, both were really agile and it impressed Melina how agile and flexible Zyra was but Asuka seemed to coil round her like a snake, to keep her pinned down.
The boldwing dragoness wasn't about to give up yet. Asuka may have had her wrapped up but she was finding ways to get out of those binds. She twisted left, jerking her wings free and flaring them wide so the other dragon couldn’t coil around her back again.
Asuka seemed to be in the spirit of this tussle, both were determined and she was enjoying this challenge from the bold wing, as she managed to constrict the dragoness limbs and wings back into a tight array, binding her up.
The dragoness sucked in a breath as she felt the air rush from her lungs.
The twisting had only gotten her so far. She had to try something else and in that moment a move she had seen Ardon do inspired her.
She tensed her hind legs and suddenly charged forward with all her might. Trying to topple Asuka while breaking free.
Melina looked a little surprised as Asuka had to rearrange her coils to counter the dragoness, change of tactic, the bold wing still stuck in the eastern dragon’s strong coils as the fight continued.
Zyra glanced over at Melina briefly.
Not wanting to let her down she turned to asuka and began to try and wrestle the other dragon off offer, prying the coils apart.
Asuka moved her thicker coils round Zyra to stop her escaping, Asuka found the bold wing a handful, she was a fiery dragoness with a big heart.
The boldwing was beginning to grow pink across her nose in effort. Gritting her teeth she threw her shoulders into the fray, prying apart the coils that bound her. Springing free she drew in deep breaths that she had been denied before snapping her tail like a whip in distraction before lunging at Asuka.
“That’s my girl” Melina said quietly as Zyra took the fight to the eastern dragon as the bold wing and the eastern dragon tumbled about in fluid motions as Zyra got the upper part of the dragoness and tried to get that under control.
As Zyra wrestled with Asuka she realized she had the advantage of weight on her side.
She grit her teeth and tried to use that to her advantage and pull Asuka to the ground.
Zyra managed to bring Asuka head and upper body to the ground, Asuka was not done yet as she moved restlessly as the coils tried to wrap around the bold wing as the fight got more intense.
Zyra tried to fight her wriggling opponent, attempting not to be thrown as she grew more flush. She growled lightly as she tried to put her paws around her head and neck to pin her to the ground.
“You got her Zy” Melina thought as the fight went to the ground, Asuka had the advantage of flexibility but Zyra had weight and control of her head and upper body, the important rudder for the eastern dragon as she went in for a secure pin.
The boldwing went deadweight, pinning the other dragon to the ground. She began to count down, shaking as she tried to keep Asuka in place.
Asuka struggled with Zyra’s weight realising the bold wing had weight on her side and was strong for her age, Asuka was trapped as her coils moved about, she finally managed to free herself partly as she wrapped her coils round the bold wings mid section, squeezing tightly, trapping the dragoness wings and putting strain upon Zyra in an attempt to make her submit.
The bold wing dragoness fought hard against the mounting pressure across her torso. She bared her teeth and growled.
"5...6...7....8," she counted up.
Asuka upper the pressure, tightening her grip and putting Zyra in a really tight spot.

The boldwing was fighting tremendously as Veyron watched in anticipation.
She bared her teeth, shaking her head in effort as she counted to nine. His shoulders trembled as she fought to keep her place in the fight, not wanting to slip up now. She fought against the crushing coils and held her own ferociously. "Ten!" She rasped, nearly out of breath.
Asuka released her grip as Zyra let the dragoness up, Asuka was panting but had a small smile on her face.
“I am impressed Zyra, you got a fiery spirit within you, I can see that very clearly” Asuka said as she bowed in respect to the bold wing as she did before the fight.
Zyra bowed low as well, panting. "And you, Asuka. You put on an inspiring fight."
Asuka smiled lightly.
“I have a bit to learn but I did enjoy your challenge” Asuka said as Zyra nodded.
“You did really well Zyra, I felt your determination, how’s your mid section, she squeezed you tight there” Melina said gently checking over the bold wing.
"I'm alright," Zyra assured her though she did feel a little sore. "That is an impressive manoeuvre, Asuka. That must come in handy at times”.
“It is I hope I haven’t hurt you Zyra” Asuka said as Melina noticed some bruising starting to appear on her underbelly which concerned the professor.

After Asuka left with Veyron, Melina and Zyra, the other dragons remained to finish their meal and tea before they dispersed through the facility. Forge and Vonriir were mindful of the spaces that they had been told they were allowed to go, avoiding any misstep by venturing where they were not supposed to be.
Forge took a walk through the Zen garden. It was quiet and peaceful within the domed room. The sound of water and chimes gently filled the air. The silver meandered through the pebbled trail that was made to wind through the space but did not feel at ease himself.
Their commander was still missing and he did not like this waiting game they were playing. Ardon’s anxious behaviour and tension bounced off everyone else, especially in close quarters. It was as if the other dragons could feel the distress the bond was in, being separated and Ardon seeing Jack in distress. Whether this was a true sight of Jack’s current state or just a panicked vision, they couldn’t be sure but whatever it was had been had caused such grief in the gold dragon.
Forge surveyed the room once more before he returned to the room where their quarters resided.
A the back of the room Vonriir was cleaning up, drawing water to his face with his massive paws and scrubbing the scales. Something smelled like lemongrass and Forge realized it was some sort of soap that the large dragon was using. The silver laid down in the entrance of his quarts so he faced outward to watch the goings on of their shared space.
Ardon was finally catching some sleep in his room, Forge could see. The pile of gold was curled tightly at the back of his alcove. The silver suspected he had been up most of the night and his body had finally given in, wanting him to finally rest, despite the situation they faced.
Forge sighed. He may not have openly showed it, but he did feel bad for his nephew. Soon enough they would find the man…. He hoped.
He rubbed his muzzle with a paw before shaking his head, what a mess they were all in it seemed.
“Chin, up commander,” said Vonriir, having finished washing and spotted the silver’s melancholy behaviour.
“Your eternal optimism is…. Something, Vonriir,” muttered the warlord.
The Cragback sat down next to him and gave a small smile, “Well there’s no use in being stormy all the time.”
“What if your preference is stormy?” Forge asked, raising a brow.
“Well, then you dance in the rain, of course!” replied Vonriir, wriggling a little back and forth and swinging his tail.
“Ugh…”

Afterward the match, Melina and Zyra excused themselves to return back to the others and let Zyra have a bit of a rest now that their trial was over.
Veyron, however, lingered behind to chat with Asuka. He had become even more impressed after witnessing the match.
“Good fight, miss Asuka,” he said to her as he walked up to the dragoness.
"You have a very determined team, Zyra has spirit with her, she fights well," Asuka said to the wraith.
"Yeah she's not a push over. That's for sure. Holds her own against the others at home. You however didn't fail to impress either. I do thin you went a bit easy on her," complimented the wraith. He thought she could have easily gotten Zyra to fail if she had tried a little more.
Asuka did not answer but merely winked at the wraith, "First rule of sparring, never show your opponent your good hand" Asuka said.
"Sounds similar to a lot of wraith adages," smirked Veyron, recalling a few. "I knew there was more fire than you were letting on."
"Of course, if I had gone full on Zyra, perhaps she be a bit more sore than a bruised underbelly but she has the spirit of a warrior and I respect that,” Asuka said, "Anyway, I must attend my other appointments now, I am afraid I must depart alone, I shall speak to you later Veyron"
Veyron skipped a few steps to catch up to her as she began to walk out of the training area, "Are you sure? A little company on mundane tasks help make the time pass by," suggested the wraith as they walked.
"I am afraid I must do these solo" Asuka said looking at the wraith, "we can meet up later," the dragoness said.
He paused in front of the entry to the guest quarters and watched her stop to hear his reaction.
"Fine. It's a date," replied the wraith with a wink, seeing how far he could push his luck.
"What is a date?" Asuka asked the wraith, a little confused by the saying.
Veyron didn’t miss a beat, "Heh, I'll tell ya later,“ he said, bowing low and fanning out his little wings behind him. “Say, after dinner perhaps?”
Asuka also bowed, "I see you in the Zen garden then, keep to the rules or Anne will clamp down on you guys again," Asuka replied.
“We wouldn’t dare. See you later,” he said as she departed.
He watched her go for a moment, smirking to himself before turning and sauntering into the guest quarters, head held high and a smug smile on his face. He marched past the others; Zyra and Forge were talking quietly with Vonriir while Ardon still lay in his own room.
"What is with all the gleaming smiles and skipping into the room," Mark replied noticing the dragon looking pleased with himself as he walked into their little accommodation space.
Veyron hopped onto the bed and dropped down onto the blankets, laying on his back, paws behind his head.
“I think I won her over,” he grinned. “Now that’s how you get the ladies, Marky.”

Mark shook his head lightly as the wraith had said he had pulled the dragoness with his charm and gentlemen like conduct.
“I still urge caution, she is like Anne, she is very switched on Veyron, just be careful” Mark said with a little hint of concern.
"What's this? Concern for a dragon from our temp commander?" Veyron teased him.
Mark gave him a look and rolled his eyes at the comment as he went to lay upon his bed in a huff from the wraith’s teasing.
“Fine, stuff you then, why should I be concerned if a wise talking no good small dragon gets turned into a kebab” Mark replied back.
Veyron laughed, sticking out his tongue in jest, "because I'm you're favourite."
“I have a duty to all dragons, doesn’t mean I like them, you just annoy me less” Mark countered looking over his shoulder at the wraith.
"Sure, if telling yourself that makes you feel better," smirked Veyron.
Mark shook his head lightly, “Never know, I could be killed in this facility by our so-called friends here, don’t worry, plenty of time” Mark replied back.
Veyron sat up, "little grim there, Commander. I don't think any of your dragons here would hesitant to ensure your safety. You're in good paws, Mark."
Mark turned to face the wraith after his comments.
“I know, I nearly died back in the states, the team were here, we had to take out a madman, non stop insanity, we chased him down into these oil platform, he dragged me over the edge and Ardon swooped down and saved me” Mark said, telling the wraith the story from years ago.
Mark was not too keen on telling the story of his past, with everything being dug up, he had felt he had moved on from that with being part of the Torchwood facility, despite his caution about having so many dragons on earth.
Veyron listened in as the man told his story.
"That so? And still he didn't win ya over, huh?" Replied the wraith.
Mark chuckled lightly, “Trust me he tries, too hard at times, he want’s everyone to like him and be all happy, world doesn’t work that way, you of all the dragons know what I say is true” Mark said sitting up and looked at the wraith.
"Yup," nodded the dragon. "Not possible, as much as one might hope otherwise."
The two of them continued to talk as Melina was trying to treat the bruise appearing to come through her pristine pearly white scales, Melina using a gel which had witch-hazel to bring the bruise up and to reduce the swelling and discomfort the dragoness was feeling.
The boldwing dragoness was lying on her side while Melina looked at the bruised mark on her stomach. "It will be fine, Mel. You can't do much for a bruise anyway."
Melina nodded finishing putting the gel on her underbelly.
"She got you good here, she must of squeezed hard" Melina commented.
"Like a giant boa constrictor," replied the dragoness, looking up as Ardon emerged from his sleep.
She saw the worried look on his face. "Before you get your tail in a knot I'm fine."
"I thought you were doing yoga?" Frowned Ardon.
"Yoga turned to training, Zyra put herself forward to see what this dragoness was made of, we got a bit of a sample" Melina said.
"Did you win?" He asked.
"Of course, I did," she smiled.
"You should of seen her Ardy, she kicked tail, it was very fluid at the start but Zyra had grit and weight on her side, she won but Asuka got very strong coils, I was really impressed she held out against that pressure" Melina said, praising her dragoness, her voice showing how proud she was.
Zyra rolled to her belly before sitting up, happy that Melina was proud of her.
"Well, congrats then," said Ardon.
"Any more visions?" Asked Zyra in a quieter tone. Ardon still seemed off.
The gold shook his head. "No."
Melina got up and put her hand on the gold’s shoulders as she smiled lightly.
“We will find him, don’t you worry, Jack isn’t one that is easily gotten rid of” Melina assured him.
"I know. We keep saying that but I don't feel like we've gotten any closer." Said Ardon.
Melina nodded as she looked back at Zyra.
“You my samurai warrior before bed, in the thermal pool to bring that bruise up more so we can quicken the healing” Melina said.
Soon all of a sudden Takara and Doctor Tatsu came into their quarters unexpectedly.
All the dragons rose to their feet respectfully when they saw them walk into the room. "News?" Inquired forge.
Takara looked around at the dragons and Mark as well as Melina as she seemed to have news.
“My operatives have come back with information, it seems the Yakuza are throwing allot of resources of their own working for a client of theirs who has gone to great lengths to be anonymous with them, this client has had the Yakuza moving machinery and items from one of their operated warehouses” Takara said.
“What sort of stuff?” Mark asked.
Dr Tatsu answered the man’s question.
“Well strangely allot of medical equipment, syringes, analytical equipment, stabilizers, DNA readers as well as a number of analysis machines” he replied.
A cold chill went down Ardon's spine. Could they be experimenting on him again..., like they had in the mines?
"That does not seem promising." Said forge.
"Have you been able to track any shipments? Any leads on where this stuff is coming from or going?" Asked Veyron suddenly.
“They been moving things between different freight companies, using them as cover, switching ID numbers, they know what they are doing, the money is also moving around as well, we are trying to track however we discovered a warehouse on an isolated Island not too far North which is being used” Takara said.
“We are planning a dawn raid upon the warehouse, to catch them in the act” she added.
"We'll go with you," said Ardon adamantly, flicking his tail back and forth at the news.
Takara frowned and folded her arms, looking up at the gold.
“We were planning a stealth raid and gold with stick out like a sore thumb, just like your two largest dragons here, I wasn’t planning on allowing you guys to get involved at all and ruin our operations……..however Anne has said as goodwill and show of cooperation, we allow 2 dragons from your team with us on the raid” Takara said.
"Ardon and I, then. If you'll allow it," suggested the silver.
Takara looked up at the silver warlord.
“Sure a dragon your size can be quiet and blend into the background?, can you do stealthy?” Takara assertively said.
"I could hang back until the moment is needed," said forge, knowing his scales shimmered nearly as bright as Ardon's. Not exactly made for stealth.
“We have camouflage we can paint onto your scales, you be under my command in this operation, both of you, I have heard you be referred to as some kind of warlord dragon” Takara quizzed the silver, obviously not knowing the truth.
"He is," supplied Vonriir. "Commander and overseer of many victories across his years."
"We understand your conditions," said Ardon.
“If you are going to go stealth then I ask Takara you take Veyron he is well versed in this work and wont let you down, he is our recon and scout in Torchwood 5 and does the job well” Mark said.
“I have reservations” Takara said looking at the wraith with suspicion.
Veyron folded his arms, "you've had reservations even before we got here I'm sure. I'm good at my job. As Mark said. Just try me."
Takara frowned but nodded.
“Alright, we use you as recon, saves us using drones, Asuka will drop you off at a vantage point, we be making the strike at dawn, be ready, you two will be in camouflage paints, the rest will watch on monitors here” Takara instructed.
The group of dragons nodded, content that some of them were going along.
"We understand."
“You 3 be ready up at 0400 hours we move out at 0600” Takara said as they left the team, Mark looked at all three dragons and spoke.
“You be careful you 3, want to ensure you all come back in one piece” he said.

Asuka never came back for her and Veyron’s planned post dinner ‘date’. Something had come up that had drawn her presence elsewhere. Veyron didn’t seem outwardly disappointed, instead engaging in a game of cards with Mark to pass by the time.
The other dragons ended up lingering in their quarters for some time before the lights began to darken and they decided to sleep and ready themselves for tomorrow.
Zyra was woken by something but she wasn’t sure exactly what. She looked out of her and Melina’s room and into the dark common area. She could see Forge and Vonriir sleeping in their pod-like rooms and could hear Veyron snoring in the room beside hers.
Something felt wrong but she couldn’t place it as she looked out into the din of the early morning hours.
It was only when she heard Ardon shout did she jump to her feet. She raced out of her quarters and into his. The gold was lying on his side and shaking in an almost violent manner, his scales had a dim shimmer to them as well.
“Ardon!” called Zyra, “Ardon wake up!” She put her paws on his shoulder and tried to shake him awake.
“Wait,” said Forge, getting to his feet and hurrying over upon hearing the commotion, “Let it happen. He might be having another vision.” He ordered.
Zyra backed off with a little hesitation. Ardon was grimacing as if he were in pain, paws clenched, as he seemed to curl into the fetal position on his side. Zyra badly wanted to wake him up from whatever he was being terrorized by but understood Forge’s order. He could be finding out something about where Jack was.

As Ardon woke in the dream he could see Jack still in the chair chained up, but the man seemed to awake as he looked around, the haze as starting to clear around the man slowly, revealing a bit more. He seemed to alert to the link that strengthened between him and his dragon.
"Ardon?, is that you?" came Jacks voice in the distance.
"It's me. Where are you?" Ardon tried saying, not knowing if the man could actually hear him or if he could just feel his presence.
"I...I do not know, underground I think, keep away Ardon, keep yourself...safe" Jack replied.
This would be one command that Ardon would never listen to. His life was devoted to keeping the man safe and nothing would stop him from doing that. Even direct orders from Jack himself.
"No... w’ere coming to save you. We'll find you," came Ardon's distant voice called. “I just need to know where you are….”
"They been taking stuff from me, it's not been nice....feel so drained" Jacks reply came a few minutes after. Ardon’s field of vision suddenly changed. He blinked and realized he was looking through Jack’s eyes. He could feel the immense fatigue the man was feeling and the ghostlike pain across his body from who knew what torture.
"Who has? Can you tell me anything that will help us find you? Jack? ....Jack?" Came Ardon's even quieter reply. Almost sounding like jack’s subconscious talking now.

"I...I see.....a statue....warrior...person ...Ardon" Jack said before the link was severed.

Ardon drew a gasping breath as his eyes opened and he jerked backwards, feeling the echo of pain across his back. Panicked and unsure of where he was he suddenly felt Zyra’s paw touch his own.
“You’re okay. You had another vision I think…. You’re going again,” Zyra tried to explain to him. He looked up and realized most of the team had woken, surrounding him.
“Get Anne, He’s told me more. I could see more.” He urged.

***

Hours later, back at the t5 facility the team had been given the information that Ardon had passed along to the others. The two dragons were set back onto searching for any sort of connection or clue.
Hitteki and Comox had been working hard into the early morning, knowing that the other’s would be conducting a raid soon enough.
They hoped that this would be the break that they needed.
“Statue, could he be in a museum? “ pondered Comox aloud.
"Wait, statue with spikes, surely there is a name for that type of warrior in Japanese?" Hitteki said to the bold wing.
"Um," started Comox, searching to see if he could find a name. "Let's look it up." After a moment he brought up a picture on the computer screen. "Did it look like this I wonder? Steel Ronin? Maybe this could be it."
"Yes! that must be what Ardon meant, with Jack’s vision, that must mean something" Hitteki said, feeling proud of herself for helping.
"Go page Baxter, we need to get this info out to them as soon as possible. It might be important."
"Will do, I get him now" Hitteki said as she dashed off to get the man.
Comox got a grim line on his face as he stared at the picture. Whatever this was looked menacing and he hoped that it wasn’t a bad omen of things to come.

Melina checked up on the gold dragon using the labs with Dr Tatsu and along with him ran tests of the gold.
The dragon indeed had elevated adrenaline levels and was tensed, the poor golden dragon had seemed to link with Jack in a way that she did not think was possible, then again Ardon and Jacks Brathille bond was in her view the strongest and most powerful version.
“What happened Ardon, when you had this vision, what happened this time?” Melina asked the gold softly trying to get more information if the gold could remember.
After they had told Anne and Takara, they had contacted Torchwood 5 to look up information, while Takara and Anne did their own, looking around to see if the Steel Ronin warrior had any significance.
"I could see more of the room. Jack could tell that I was there... he could talk to me somehow."
Forge looked a bit surprised at this.
"Then... I don't know... but I could see what he was seeing... like through his own eyes. I could feel his fatigue and the pain he was feeling... he said something about a metal warrior? With spikes or something..."
Melina seemed to look up at Tatsu for an answer.
“The steel Ronin, I only heard rumours of a tale in Japanese tales, Takara and Anne will know more” he said.
Melina had something click in her mind.
“Like Hadassah and that boy, you seem to be gaining the power to look through your Atillu’s eyes, which helps as he’s got your DNA in him, Brathille is using it as a gateway” Melina theorised.
"That could be so. It seems to happen at random though. When you're sleeping..." said Zyra.
"Or when he's conscious," said Ardon quietly. "I could feel him struggling to stay awake."
Zyra didn't like the sound of that it was hard not to look grim at the thought.
"You can't find they connection on your own?" Asked forge.
"No. It happens without my input," said Ardon.
“We keep an eye on Ardon if it happens again” Melina said as Dr Tatsu nodded lightly.
“You may use my facilities if you need to, we can do Neural tests to help” the man said to the team.
"I just hope he find him before I get another Vision. It's killing me being able to see him but not help," admitted Ardon.
“We will Ardon, we will” Melina said as Anne came in with Takara and Asuka slinking in as well, keeping close to her commanders.
“How is Ardon doing, will he be ok to go on this operation with Takara in a few hours time?2 Anne asked.
"If there is a chance that Jack is there it would be wise to have Ardon there," said forge.
Takara folded her arms and seemed to focus on the silver.
“Veyron will be being dropped off by Asuka soon so he can keep us up to date, I am putting faith in you to perform, if there is a risk that Ardon cannot do this operation then he will have to be dropped, there can be no muck ups here as you British say” Takara said assertively.
"He will be focused during the mission," forge assured her with a stern firmness to his tone.
Takara did not seem so sure as Anne cleared her throat.
“We are investigating your vision of seeing the steel Ronin and looking into any relevance it might have, we also seeing if it can be related to the Yakuza or not” she said to the group.
"Thank you," said Ardon with appreciation as the others nodded.
Anne seemed to appreciate the thanks, the usually cold hearted and stoic woman gave a small nod of approval.
“Commander Takara will be leading the raid on the warehouse, she will brief you all, we are sending in our Mecha Jengu’s as well as our Sea wings, we also have the shogun battle ship on call as well, our men are gearing up for this task” Anne explained.
"It is good that we are going in prepared," nodded forge.
"Yes, better safe than sorry," agreed Zyra.
Takara nodded lightly but seem dubious on the abilities of these dragons, but Anne had said they had to at least try and look like they were being cooperative.
“I need you two painted up in Camouflage, silver and gold sticks out so I want the artists to be working on you both” Takara said.
"Whatever is needed," said Ardon, not going to allow a little paint get in the way of him getting to go.
“I am satisfied with the dragons on this mission Takara, please get the process going” Anne said leaving them.
“This way please” Takara said leading Ardon and Forge away to get the paints put on their scales, it would help them blend in for the operation.
Asuka watched and looked down at the female bold wing.
“I hope your injury is healing up, I did not mean to cause such damage upon you” Asuka said.
"It's fine, it just looks bad because with have white scales. It tends to show up more." Explained the bold wing.
Asuka nodded lightly.
“So I did not have you on the ropes as I observed and felt from you at times” Asuka replied, the female seemed to be subtly prodding and perhaps seeing if the bold wing had weaknesses to exploit.
"Perhaps not," was zyras reply, friendly but unrevealing.
Asuka gave a small but sly smile upon the dragoness.
“I shall be departing to get Veyron, will see you later” Asuka said leaving the girls as Melina watched the dragoness go.
“She was prodding to see if you were sore or struggled with her, she’s looking for weaknesses” Melina quietly said to the dragoness.
"I know. Typical dragon thing to do," Zyra whispered back. "Think I hide it well enough?"
Melina nodded lightly.
“Oh?, how is it a typical dragon thing?, plus yes you did I know you go for another round doctor with her if needs me regardless” Melina said.
"It's good to know your opponent’s weaknesses. Instinctual to seek them out," explained Zyra.
Melina thought about what the dragoness said about dragons instinctively looking for weaknesses in others, not just males but females too.
"I thought it was only males who still sized each other up, seems girls do too" Melina said looking at the bruise which was already healing quicker than she thought it would.
"Your a quick healer Doctor" she commented.
"Yes. Lucky for that," she nodded. "I attribute that to you."
Melina chuckled, "I'm glad I’m a good healing Atillu for you but don’t back down against her, I feel the fight was a test of your brawn and resolve" the professor said.
"It was. I wanted to see what she was about too.... just in case. You never know, right?" Said the bold wing.
Melina nodded in agreement.
"Exactly and you performed admirably Zy, could ask for a smart, dangerous and beautiful dragoness" Melina said with a smile.
Zyra smiled back, happy that Melina was proud of her. "Thank you, Mel."
The two males went to the main military bay where a team of technicians were waiting with camouflage paint as the dragons settled down and cooperated with the technicians instructions.
Forge and Ardon sat patiently while camouflage paint was applied. The silver had to lay down so that his back could be reached.
Ardon was more antsy, forcing himself to be patient and hold still.
Takara entered the area as the technicians covered the dragons in the paint, which was hiding their metallic scales well.
“I…been told to say sorry for hiding your colours in paint, it will come off in time but we shall remove it” Takara said to both dragons.
"It's fine. We understand why it in necessary," replied Forge.
“We will be on the move soon, Asuka is taking your Veyron as recon as your American commander suggested, you be able to sweep in and support our forces raiding the warehouse” Takara explained.
Forge and Ardon nodded. "We won't let anything get past us." Said Ardon.
Mark came in and looked a little surprised at seeing the silver and Ardon in the typical colours of the camouflage and no spec of silver or Gold scales.
“Well, I don’t know about those Yakuza guys, but you two scare the crap out of me…even more so than usual” Mark said as Takara rolled her eyes at the comment.
"If a little paint scares you maybe you're in the wrong business," joked Vonriir as he lumbered into the room, overhearing the conversation.
"You look like different dragons almost. The paint stops the light from reflecting, is it?”
Takara sighed lightly.
“It is to provide cover so they can blend into the green forests in the area, they can approach without being seen, gold and silver will stand out” Takara replied to the massive Crag back.
“Vonriir can pack a mean punch Takara, though your going to need more paint” Mark joked lightly.
"I might but a giant moving green dragon isn't that easily hidden, however," mused the crag back. "You know what, in that green you look like overgrown eastern mountain dragons."
Takara seemed to be losing patience with the conversation.
“Ok, you two are ready to be go on board the Shogun battle ship, go to the back on the helipad, be moving off in a few moments” Takara ordered then turning to Mark and Vonriir.
“You two back to your quarters, this is my operation now” Takara assertively said as Mark gestured to Vonriir for them to walk away.
The dragons were led to the massive Shogun battle ship which was docked up, the splashing of water against the concrete dock as the ship rocked gently, obviously Torchwood 9 spared no expense in ensuring they had a navy to go with their impressive compliment of firepower and equipment.

At Commander Takara’s order, Forge and Ardon walked out towards the ship.
Zyra caught sight of them through the window and watched the two dragons walk out to the ship. Recognizing their shape but seeing their scales in a different colour was baffling. They looked like different dragons all together but moved in the familiar gate she was used to.
“Good luck, Ardy,” she said quietly to herself, having not been able to wish him luck in person before he was ushered away. She hoped that all would go smoothly and that they would all have their goofy gold back alongside their commander.

"Veyron? I have come to collect you for recon mission,” Asuka called as she entered the shared guest quarters.
Veyron heard her call from where he was, standing in Mark’s quarters upon his side table, “My date has arrived,” said the wraith, pulling on the last of his gear, sitting a small pack on his back in the space between his wings. Any other time one might have considered the outfit comical, considering its size but they were on their way to hopefully rescue Jack so a more serious tone had enveloped the team, save for Veyron himself.
"Keep your head down and keep safe," Mark said to the wraith.
“Yeah, yeah, love you too,” replied Veyron cheekily, jumping off the side table, waving to the man as he left.
"Ready," was the dragons reply to Asuka as he walked out, dressed in his combat gear. His green eyes were bright and seemed ready for the task assigned to him.
Asuka looked down and saw the Wraith in his gear, she gave a small smile.
"I'm impressed, your facility has outfitted you with good kit, I recognise the padded armour," Asuka said, her eyes taking in the detail. He walked up to her, pleased that she’d noticed. Veyron grinned, holding his head a little higher.
"So where do we go to get picked up?" he asked as they walked out of the guest space. He tried to look not too hurried as he kept up to her.
"I’m taking you to a small island overlooking the warehouse, it is small but lots of woodlands for you to hide observe and report on activity until the main strike force is in position," Asuka explained.
"You're taking me?" Laughed Veyron, looking up at her, "I didn't know dragons were allowed to get their pilots license. I’ve driven a truck, badly, but I don’t know how soon I’ll be doing that again," He joked, “Really though, meeting at the launch pad? You got a hanger or something in this place?”
Asuka snorted lightly, "I assume you are joking Veyron, I will be taking you upon my back," Asuka replied back.
This made the wraith pause, stopping him in his tracks as he considered her construct, "But you have no wings..." he said simply, trying to puzzle it together.
Asuka chuckled lightly, "Do you doubt me Veyron? Such a polite and charming dragon as yourself should put your trust in me," she reached out her paw to the Wraith, "Shall we?"
Veyron gladly hopped up into her claws before climbing up to the space between her antler-like horns, “After you,” he said with a wave of his paw.
The dragoness led him down the corridors towards a door. Upon putting in her security code, which Veyron noted she hid from him, she walked out onto a platform that jutted away from the building. The wraith leaned over the side of her angled head and looked down. She was really going to jump, he thought with a bit of worry. He scrunched his eyes shut as she coiled for her leap.
Asuka took off into the air, her snake like coils seemed to move in a rapid wave like motion as the dragoness travelled fast and in a diagonal course towards the island, keeping low. Veyron had clung onto her horn at the launch but now realized that she indeed fly and did not plummet line a stone. He looked behind him and scratched his head in disbelief.
“Huh…” he said, surprised.
"Impressed?" She grinned up at the Wraith.
He liked that smile, having not seen it before. Veyron whistled, "You're going to have to teach me this one. Wraiths were given wings but they aren't good for much," He said, sounding impressed.
"Wings are easier, I can’t travel straight, far too difficult, but I zig zag, it keeps me mobile and I can avoid gunfire and other dangers easily," Asuka explained.
The wraith was quiet a moment, contemplating asking her what gunfire she had to avoid but decided on a compliment instead, not to complicate their easy conversation. She seemed to be more chatty with him now and he did not want to mess that up.
"Wings or not, your grace follows you to the sky," he said, standing up between the antler like crest and putting paw over his brow as he took a look at the island beyond, “That’s it over there?”
"That is the Island, Takara has said it will give you the best look over the lands, you be reporting directly via the ear piece, set to channel 4," Asuka instructed.
"Channel four," repeated Veyron, setting the earpiece correctly and putting it on, "Got it."
He watched the surrounding area as they got nearer, trying to take in detailed notes in his head should he have to make an escape.
"Good luck Veyron, hold your position until the fireworks start, once area clear I come get you for evacuation home, if you fancy joining in the fight, radio in and I come get you," Asuka said.
“Maybe when this is all over you and I can have some fireworks of our own,” grinned the wraith as he leapt off her crest with a fancy flip. He threw her a cheeky wink and blew her a kiss before pinning his wings to his sides and dove down towards the island.

Asuka dropped the wraith off in the most strategic location on the small island, overlooking the large warehouse facility, there were plenty of tall trees there, perfect for the dragon to observe and report in.
“Good luck Veyron” Asuka said before she shot off, keeping low and out of sight, her colours blending somewhat with the rippling water around the island, leaving the wraith to do the job he excelled in.
Upon landing, the wraith clambered up a tall tree to take in the areas surrounding the warehouse. His eyesight was sharp but still he raised some custom-made binoculars he had managed to craft to his face.
Peering across the water he saw that It wasn't bustling with activity but there was certainly something going on.
Soon the voice of the commander came over the line, obviously the strike force was approaching his location.
“Veyron, this is Takara, our forces are approaching, please report on activity and any possible threats” she said through the ear piece.
"We've got a few transport shuttles coming to and from the north end. Five, no six men patrolling. Armed. Security cameras and a defence grid set up but other than that there is little in the way of other activity. Doesn't appear to have any major air cover or defence though. " he said clearly through the headset.
There was a moment of pause before the commander spoke again.
"Continue to monitor situation our eta 15 minutes, report every 5 minutes" Takara replied back.
"Roger that," replied Veyron, keeping his eyes fixed on the warehouse.

Further on down, the Shogun warship move gracefully in the water, underneath was team of Sea wings following in a diamond formation around the ship and each side there were 4 transport s carrying security forces of Takara’s and hovering along were the Mechs which turned into planes.
Indeed Torchwood 9 had a very modern and effective strike force.
While the ship continued, Ardon and Forge were on the back on the ship on the helipad, where they viewed the water bubbling up as the ships propellers moved the grand warship across the sea, Forge approached his nephew to ease the tension that the youngster was feeling and to get him on point for this.
"You have to keep focused, Ardon. It will be hard to rein in your emotions but we can't have any mistakes." Said forge firmly but there was a hint of an empathetic softness to his expression.
"There won't be any," replied Ardon.
Takara soon appeared on the deck, along with Azuka who landed upon the helipad once the dragons had moved over to allow her to land.
“Veyron is in position” she told the commander.
“Yes, we been receiving reports” Takara said turning to speak to Forge and Ardon.
“We be in range of the warehouse soon, Veyron is updating us on activity, so far the skies look clear, apart from defence turrets, our planes will go in first and cause some chaos then on my orders you two can sweep in and cause havoc” Takara instructed the dragons.
"Tell them to watch it on the north side. That's where the most of the trouble will be," came Veyron’s voice.
Takara nodded listening in and relaying the information to the dragons.
“Keep away from the North side, swoop in low, the paint will hide you from prying eyes but engage once the turrets are taken out, don’t want you two as casualties” Takara said.
"Understood," said forge with a nod.
"We will be fine," Ardon assured her.
“We shall indeed see” Takara said as she switched on her headset to communicate with Veyron.
“Veyron, what is the current situation at the warehouse facility” Takara asked the wraith.
"Still same level of activity. Foot patrol is still active. Two of them are chatting by the west doors, the grey ones. Others are still milling about," Veyron said to her, squinting through his binoculars.
Takara nodded.
“We be launching an attack in a moment, keep an eye out and let us know of any changes” Takara said to the wraith.
"Will do," confirmed Veyron.
Takara went off to begin preparations on the assault on the warehouse facility, leaving Azuka to speak to the two dragons.
“I am sure you dealt with human structures before, Takara is a excellent tactician, she is making sure you both safe before she let’s you reign fire from above” the dragoness said, tensing the tension.
"I know and we appreciate the effort," said forge in tones quiet enough for Ardon to not overhear. "It is difficult for a bonded dragon not to just jump into the fray and be forced to hold back."
“I understand” Azuka said as all of a sudden the mechs following transformed in a smooth motion and turned into fighter planes as their boosters powered up and they shot off.
Forge and Ardon looked to see the shifting of metal as the mechs transformed and were soon airborne as planes, rocketing off to the warehouse.
Forge and Ardon's expressions were focused but it was an impressive sight.
“Seems we got action the Jengu’s will go into on assaults and then the sea wing’s under the ships, if you think that is impressive, wait till you see them” Azuka said.
Ardon gave a rumble in response while forge nodded slightly, "we hope working together with them will bring our commander back to us."
Azuka nodded as the ship slowed down to change course, so the ship could position its big cannons to offer support.
The sea wings underneath the ship shot off underneath as the transports headed off as well, Azuka watched as the sound of gunfire could be heard in the background with the sound of the planes going into battle.
“This is Takara to Dragons, raid is commencing, scramble immediately head towards Veyron’s island and await clearance to engage” came the commanders voice over the speaker.
“Good luck sirs” she said.
Forge bowed his head to her and moved off, unfurling his wide wings in unison with Ardon as they suddenly launched off the deck and into the air.
The dragons flew away and went to the island that Veyron was on, watching on as the fighters attacked, the air filling up with laser fire and gunfire from the automated defence turrets guarding this warehouse facility.
As Ardon and forge flew into the island, Veyron flared out his wings, displaying the bright red streaks so they could see where he was.
They landed and the wraith quickly leapt onto Ardon's crest.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Well, for one these defence systems are way too advanced for just your average gang," replied the wraith.
An explosion could be heard as it seemed one of the fighters crashed nearby as out of the water the sea wing units emerged to engage in the battle, along with the transports that were landing on the beach.
The raid was being more challenging as the defence turrets seemed advanced and were hitting fighters out of the sky.
Takara was on board the shogun battleship as she watched on a battle map seeing the defence capabilities.
“Commander, their defences are knocking our Jengu’s from the sky, the sea wings are finding it hard to hit the targets” the one officer said as Takara nodded.

The dragons looked stunning as the fighters went down in a fiery crash after being struck by the turrets.
"We have to go help," said Ardon, leaping forward a step.
"Commander, Goldie is itching to get in there. Can I release the hounds and give you some back up? “said Veyron.
The commander came onto the headset, “If our fighters are being knocked out of the sky, what change have slow dragons, remain in position” Takara ordered.
"Instinct," growled Forge to himself, "Ardon, wait. We have to remain here."
The warlord stood on the young male's tail to keep him from charging in, garnering him a scowl from his nephew.
Soon enough a loud explosion could be heard as smoke rose up, one of the turrets had been destroyed as one of the fighter pilots of a damaged Jengu went on a kamikaze attack, destroying themselves and the turret creating an opening.
"There," said Ardon suddenly, "A destroyed turret. We could get there. It's a gap in their defences."
Veyron relayed this information back to the commander and waited for a reply.
Takara sighed lightly as she replied back to Veyron.
“Inform the dragons they are clear to engage, keep heads down” Takara passed the information onto Veyron to relay the message to Ardon and Forge.
As soon as the words were out of the wraith's mouth Ardon was already surging forward, Forge having to jolt upward to catch up. Veyron, however was still sitting on the gold's horns and had not been given a second to leap off before Ardon went catapulting towards the warehouse. There was no calling him back now. Ardon was given the reins and there was a chance that his Attilu was in that building. All the focus and his instinct roared at him to go find Jack.
Veyron scrambled down into the hollow between the gold's wing joints and hunkered down.
Laser fire came from all sides but the dragons gunned for the gap in the defence grid as another turret was destroyed as flames and smoke rose up as the fighters went in for another assault upon the facility as shouting could be heard as they got closer.
"On your left! Laser fire!" Shouted Veyron in warning.
Ardon and forge rolled opposite to avoid the strike before landing in the warehouse area. Forge jumped ahead and opened his deadly jaws, unleashing a torrent of flame across the area.
The flames disorientated the gang members as they ran away, not wanting to face the large dragons, the paint hiding them well as people rushed around as the raid was underway.
Soon the sound of a large truck sounded as some tried to escape, hoping to take the dragon out on their way to escape as the sound of the engine revving up high and heading towards the gold with Veyron on him.
"Ardon, Ardon a truck!" Earned Veyron, patting his shoulder frantically to get his attention.
The dragon turned and growled the paint cracked along a few edges of his scales along his back, revealing the golden light of brathille.
Rearing up on his hind legs, Ardon slammed his paws down on the truck as it raced towards him. The hood crumpled in an instant, stopping the vehicle in its tracks.
Forge and Veyron were both stunned as the turned to witness the shimmering gold recoiled and punched the truck, sending it skidding backwards.
Men ran as more of Torchwood 9’s forces entered the facility, the defence systems had been destroyed and now support had arrived.
All of a sudden a noise could be heard inside the Warehouse as an armoured warrior appeared from the warehouse armed with a large pole with a very sharp blade at the end, the robot looked heavily armed, it looked like what they had seen in the images back in Torchwood 9.
"Guys..." said Veyron as he turned to hear metallic clanking.
Both the larger dragons looked over to see a steel Ronin advancing.
Forge stepped forward. "I've got this," he growled.
Takara’s voice came over the headset.
“Our Shogun war ship is in range, look for the power generator to shut down any defence systems inside the warehouse” Takara asked as Forge faced off against the Ronin.
Forge blocked the Ronin’s path, lashing his tail and letting out a snarl as Ardon went to find the generator, Veyron still clinging to his back.
The Ronin stood before the warlord, red eyes looking at the silver in his paints, it was taller than Ardon but not as big as Forge as the blade was swung at the warlord dragon with speed and precision, an electrical static on the blade as well.
The Ronin striking out to inflict damage on the silver as Takara’s forces moved into the warehouse while this feared robot was battling the silver.
Forge had to duck and dash sideways to avoid the blade. The machine was much quicker than he had first anticipated. The warlord kept his spiked tail up ready to defend himself.
The Ronin continued the slashing at quick pace at the silver who seemed on the defensive for now, it was a far smoother running machine than Forge had ever encountered and the spikes and armour made it very tough to find a weakness.
The camouflage painted dragon grabbed the weapon in the Ronin's hands with his own paws and yanked backward, wresting it out of his foes grip after a mighty struggle. He threw it as far as he could, turning his fiery eyes back at the machine.
The Machine clenched a fist, now without its weapon and threw a solid hit into the silver’s chest hard, the force and power causing the dragon to be thrown backwards.
The warlord crashed into a storage container with a heavy thud. He curled his tail around as a shield as he got up, pain tearing through his shoulder where he had hit. With a snarl the dragon unleashed a bout of flame at the machine.
The steel Ronin stepped back as a click could be heard as sharp knives appeared from the one arm, another weapon to use against the warlord.
In the meantime, Takara’s security forces were storming the warehouse facility, as the warlord battled this war machine the heavy units were moving in to provide support and cover as one was carrying a modified bazooka weapon trying to aim it at the Ronin.
The warlord turned to see a man readying a large weapon. The word bazooka came to mind in a flash as the dragon rounded on him, snarling. with a fierce kick of his powerful hind leg he sent the weapon flying.
The shot was clear as he released a high explosive load, hitting the Ronin causing an explosion, the machine in bits, scattered across the floor.
The guys seemed more impressed with silver dragon’s flexibility and human like drop kick, the guys spoke in Japanese doing the action Forge had done with their hands, they clapped at Forge’s action, clearly impressed.
The warlord turned, looking at the man who spoke. He gave him a curt nod before jumping back into the air.
The officers looked pu in awe as Forge took to patrolling the skies as Torchwood 9 security forces took control of the area, Azuka landed and looked around as the security forces closed in and secured the site and the evidence gathering would begin.
Ardon had shut down the power plant along with Veyron as teams inspected the inside of the large warehouse.
"Is he in there?" Asked Ardon, still glowing.
"Wait, we will find out shortly," replied forge. Veyron peeked up from his hiding spot between Ardon's wings, now that the action had been suspended.
The men moved in to inspect the warehouse first, once the all clear given, it allowed Ardon and Forge to join in, there were empty crates and large empty cargo containers labelled up for medical use and others were weapon crates.
“Azuka spoke to Ardon as one of the officers spoke in Japanese to her, which she responded in kind.
“Ardon, can you and Veyron inspect the lower offices for clues” she asked.
Ardon bolted down to the office doors and tried to open them but they were locked.
"Hang on, champ, I got this," said Veyron, hopping down and reaching for a few items in his bag.
Before he got a chance to grab what he was looking for, Ardon was charging into the door at full force. The wraith jumped out of the way as he crashed through.
Inside the office it was bare, a desk, chairs and not much else, it seemed the gang did not keep physical records nor did they use the area often, it was a dead end.
Ardon snarled and swiped at the doors, knocking them off their hinges. He jumped inside but was met with empty offices. The dragon was breathing hard, looking around in growing despair.
"Nothing?" Said Veyron, walking in and surveying the room.
Indeed Ardon had hoped for the man to be here, abducted by the Yakuza to hold him to ransom but there was no evidence he had ever been there, sadly Ardon was no closer to finding his Atillu.

"Back to the ship, it will take you guys home, Azuka go with them, we have business here to take care off" Takara said as she heard the T9 transports landed nearby.
The dragons nodded at her orders, filing out of the room.
“I’m sorry, Ardon. We will find him,” said Forge quietly as they walked out of the building and onto the tarmac where the attack had taken place. The silver scales were showing through where the paint had been rubbed off in the battle.
“Yeah..” rasped Ardon softly, walking past him to head out towards the ship. The gold’s glittering light had faded now. Perhaps it was the presence of the paint but the young dragon’s liquid gold scales looked a little dull as he walked away. Forge sighed and watched the painted dragon take off into the air, headed for the ship.
Always a dragon of tradition and chivalrous courtesy, Forge lingered back for Asuka to take off first. The largest dragons were always the first to land and the last to take off, as per dragon standards of respect.
He could see Veyron chatting away, still dressed in his dark operations outfit as he half hopped and half ran to keep up to the serpentine dragoness.
"Need a lift handsome?" she asked the wraith offering her paw.
“Gracious as you are beautiful,” replied Veyron, hopping up and climbing to her crest.
Forge nodded to her as she alit in her strange way of flying before he too jumped into the air to follow.

They landed on the deck of the ship where they were to wait as the shogun carried them back to the T9 base.
Ardon sat, hunched over and looking rather small as he watched the waves pass by.
"Your… abilities were very impressive, I am sorry we did not find your human" Asuka said to the gold.
He looked up at her and forced a smiled. “Thanks….Commander Takara will still help us look, right?" Asked Ardon. “Just because he wasn’t there doesn’t mean that they’ve given up?”
"Of course, she is just...doing her operations duty," Asuka said, pausing a moment as she glanced over as the ship moved away from the warehouse.
"Well get back to base and reassess I'm sure," said Veyron. “Debrief and all that. Then send the nerds to go figure out whatever it is they might find at the warehouse. Don’t worry, Kiddo, we’ll sort this out. Just….its taking a bit longer than anticipated.”
"We’ll clean off this paint and rest. Have someone fetch us if we are needed." Added Forge, Scratching at the paint on his paw.
"I thought you did well with the paints, it hid you well," Asuka commented.
“An advantage, this colour,” agreed the silver, “Our breed tends to avoid the subtle approach when it comes to colour.”
“Yeah, Gems of Kilara, they’re often referred to,” said Veyron with a dismissive wave. “Brightly coloured, all of them, then you have these guys,” he said, gesturing to Ardon and Forge, “A subspecies, Metalics they call your colouring, ya? Apparently they’re good luck.” He tried not to snort at the irony of that idea.
The rest of the ride back was in near silence, only the dull roar of the engines and the crashing of waves filled the quiet.
They dragons disembarked and made their way into the main hall where they had first entered.
"Commander Takara will inform you of any news after their investigation operations, well get clues into where Commander Harkness is," Asuka assured the dragons.
“Thank you, Asuka, we will get cleaned up,” said Forge. Ardon stayed just long enough not to be rude before headed down towards the group quarters, Forge following behind.
After a moment, Veyron jumped off Asuka’s crest and landed on the floor.
"Well, Sugar, I've got to check in with my commander. Catch ya later," Veyron said with a wink.
Asuka smiled, "What about these fireworks you requested" Asuka said with a sly smile.
"Dinner then?" He asked, holding back a wolfish grin. He had risked that bit of chat when he had launched out towards the island. The wraith hadn’t been sure where it would get him. This was a pleasant surprise.
"I think that would be nice" Asuka said with a smile.
“See ya in Twenty then, Gergeous!” he said.
The wraith walked casually away until he turned and was out of sight before breaking out in a huge grin as he hurried towards the room.

Ardon and Forge rounded the doorway into their wing of shared quarters. Melina got up and Mark also got to his feet to see what had happened, Melina looked up, hoping for some news but the dragons faces told the story. Zyra looked a little crestfallen that there hadn’t been a joyous entrance.
Forge shook his head as Ardon walked by silently to go wash up.
"He wasn't there. No sign that he ever was." Said Forge.

Melina nodded quietly, "Well, see what they find, perhaps the warehouse might reveal some clues," Melina suggested, trying to be hopeful.
“Yeah, at least we can hope for that,” agreed Zyra.

Zyra looked over and saw Ardon trying to wash away the paint under the stream of water in the back of their guest quarters. He had grown quiet and sullen again, as if the essence of his joy was once again gone. She felt bad for the gold, only imagining what he was going through. He had so much hope that Jack would be in the warehouse that when it was discovered that he wasn’t, the male shut right down again.
He was a shadow of himself and it pained her to see him so sad. She could see he was having difficulty getting all the dark paint off and now he looked like a mess of gold and murky pine green streaks.
“Can I help?” she offered, walking up and taking the scrub brush without waiting for an answer. She got all the paint off behind his crest where he couldn’t see.
“This is a good step, don’t worry,” she said.
“I am made up of worry now,” he grumbled, sticking his head under the stream of water to rinse away the paint.
‘I know….” She said. She helped him get the rest of it away before Ardon thanked her quietly and went off to go sit in his room while Forge took his turn to return to his silver state.

Just then Veyron sauntered into the shared quarters.
"Now why are you grinning away, you won the lottery or something?, we did not find Jack" Mark replied to the Wraith as he walked up and past him into their separate room.
The little dragon got out of his uniform,"Cause," he said, without further explanation as he folded his gear.
He washed up in the sink, using the hand towel to dry off. He looked at his teeth in the mirror and smoothed back the fur that ran down his spine.
Mark shook his head lightly.
"That poor girl, hope she got a hammer to nail down all her valuables, just wait till she finds out how you really are,” Mark replied with a chuckle.
“Hey, she might like it,” laughed Veyron, jumping down, “See ya later, Marky!”

The base was fairly quiet in the base now the evening was upon them, the others stayed in their quarters as Veyron went to go see the dragoness.
Veyron walked down the halls until he found a set of wide doors decorated elegantly with the forms of mirrored dragons.
He knocked and stood back.
The massive doors opened and Asuka looked to see the wraith there, she smiled as seeing the dragon there.
“Welcome, care to venture in?” Asuka said kindly, standing to one side allowing the wraith in.
"Sure," replied the little dragon. As he walked in he surveyed the room quickly.
Asuka smiled as the wraith walked in, the room itself was basic in content but had some luxuries like heated floors, a large soft bed for the dragoness to sleep in and she seemed to have a collection of Japanese warrior items, a katana sword, proudly displayed up on her wall, along with armour and shields as well as a number of banzai trees scattered around near a small water feature, with Japanese letters and symbols.
Candles with Japanese writing also could be seen in this little shine to one corner of the room, with a green mat laid out, with incense burning from a marble sculpted dragon, surrounded by polished pebbles.
To the one corner there were books on a shelf of Japanese literature and language.
“It is not a fancy place but it is my home, but it is mine and I like it” she said as the wraith took in the sights.
"Nah, it's nice. Suits you," he said in compliment. He jumped up on a desk so that he wouldn't have to look so directly upward at her.
Asuka slinked her way back into the room, her movements fluid and elegant as the body seemed to flow behind her.
“I do like cooking, I was given a pot here and a grill, I learnt Japanese cuisine, is that something you are interested in?” she asked, her eyes observing his reaction.
"Cooking? Nah, I've no talent for it. I could burn water if I tried. I enjoy the eating potion of that hobby though," he replied.
Asuka smiled lightly as she turned to stir the pot of soup she had prepared with meat on the teriyaki grill.
“You know I have heard stories about you, Veyron the shadow Wraith” Asuka said to the dragon.
"All good ones I hope," he smiled at her, wondering what she could be on about. "I have been known to partake in a heroic adventure from time to time.
“I have heard very different stories to the ones you have been referring to, none of them have been what I would call..pleasant” Asuka said turning to face the wraith on the table and approaching him.
Veyron couldn't help but to make a face, "Lies, likely depending on your source for these 'stories'. I can assure you, babe, I'm the real deal. Death defying scenarios, saving my ungrateful co-workers lives.... ya know. The usual." he said, polishing his talons on the scales of his collarbone.
Asuka seemed to be judging the wraith, determining if he was lying.
“I was told you steal stuff to horde, I am concerned you might acquire some of my valuables, I have heard you enjoy drinking to frightening degree and that you are paid for your honour, it does not hold honour or respect with me” Asuka said her kind face turning firm and hardened at the wraith before her.
"You're smarter than to believe drivel like that," said Veyron, trying to turn this around back into his favour.
Asuka lower her head towards the wraith.
“I know a liar when I see one, I know you are not all what you say you are, you are merely hiding what you are, a devious little dragon, who cares for noone but themselves, your team vouch for that” Asuka said.
Veyron made a noise of offence, "if you're dense enough to believe that then why the hell invite me here?"
Asuka raised her head up, still keeping eyes locked upon the wraith.
“Because, I heard other stories, how you saved the commander of Torchwood 5, how you helped save people on a ship, also how you saved your second in command’s life also how you did train hard to prove yourself” Asuka said as her expression softened.
“That is the Veyron I respect, admire…and like” she added.
Maybe there was hope of turning this around, thought the wraith, already plotting revenge on whoever filled Asuka in on his less moral deeds.
"Then that's all you need. You can't believe everything you hear. I collect, not steal. It's in my nature. I do indulge in the drink every now and then. It's a human pastime I've come to enjoy. I highly resent the fact that someone said I am paid for my honour. I have proven myself selfless a crap load of times,"
Asuka seemed to hum to herself as she spoke again.
"I was also told your a very strong shadow wraith, another point in my book" Asuka said as she gave him a drink in a ceramic cup.
"It's sake" She said.
"You just fussed over my 'frightening degree' of drinking a few breaths back, now you give me this?" his wraith suspicion was kicking in.
Asuka looked around at the wraith when he commented on the drink.
“It is tradition to have this before the starter which is Chicken teriyaki with coconut rice and some vegetables, then soup”
Veyron looked confused, his ruff half pulled back in bewilderment.
"Seconds ago you were calling me a liar... among other things yet you still want me to join you for dinner?" He sounded sceptical.
“Did you want to?” she put the food on the table on decorative ceramic plates, she sat down and waited for the wraith’s response.
He eyed her suspiciously but sat down. This had not gone how he envisioned but he wanted to see what she was up to.
“I do like you Veyron” Asuka said as she ate her food, the night of fireworks had indeed looked as if it had fizzled out.
"Sure," replied Veyron with less enthusiasm as he took a bite of his food and looked up at her, "so, which of my lovely co-workers have you been talking to?"
Asuka finished her meal and then spoke again to the Wraith.
"They spoke to me, just to advise me, I guess it's not made it an enjoyable evening, but I'd like to be honest and up front about what was said" Asuka said.
"Who is 'they'?" Asked Veyron again, determined not to leave this night without an answer.
Asuka gave Veyron a look.
"I shall not divulge that information" Asuka said bluntly, taking the ceramic bowls away.
"And why not?" Replied the wraith, putting a little playfulness in his voice.
Asuka turned with a teasing smile.
"You haven't had your main" Asuka teased back knowing the wraith was digging.
"If I do will you tell me?" He grinned.
"Depends if the fireworks can be reignited" She winked at him, serving the main course of traditional Japanese soup with side dishes along with it, beautifully presented for a creature with claws that could kill.
Challenge accepted, thought Veyron. He ate some of the meal and gave a nod of approval. "You're quite the chef."
Asuka smiled.
“Takara and Dr Tatsu taught me when I was small, I have learnt through trial and error but these are my favourite dishes of the lands I protect” Asuka said eating her portion delicately.
"You've been here since you were a kit then?" Inquired Veyron as he put down the chop sticks sticks and took a sip of the sake.
Asuka smiled lightly as she finished her bowl of soup.
“My egg was found on this very island, I do not know much but Commander Anne said I was brought to them and the facility was constructed with me and potentially others in mind, I have learnt Japanese and English, as well as other languages, instilled in the way of the warrior..but also the thinker” Asuka said before smiling.
“That is one thing I haven’t learnt, using chop sticks” she said with a chuckle.
Veyron flipped both chopsticks to one paw while he held the other out, palm up and wriggled his talons. His fore paws were much more human like than other dragons. "Built for it." He said before continuing his meal.
"So you've been here since a hatchling. That's impressive. You turned out well considering you were raised by humans," he joked.
Asuka laughed lightly.
“I was taught the stories of the Japanese dragons, the pictures, I heard then there were others on Earth, hiding in the world, made me happy but this is my home I was worried Torchwood 5 would take me away to the academy” Asuka said going a little quiet.
"What gave you that worry. We haven't ever kidnapped anyone... I think," replied Veyron, tapping his chopstick on his chin in thought. "But I extend my personal invitation to visit." He said with a toothy grin. "A dragoness as educated as you should see more of the world. Plus, being the only dragon for so long can't be ideal."
Asuka looked at Veyron and smiled lightly, “glad you enjoyed the food, there is pudding, a green tea green kitkat” she said as she cleared the table and put the small chocolate bar on the table for Veyron to try, she had enjoyed his company, despite the awkward start, the dragoness seemed to like the shadow wraith.
“I’m glad you stayed” she admitted as they tucked into their small chocolate bars.

"You are?" Asked Veyron, raising his brow. He finished with his food and sat down at the edge of the desk, looking up at her. His tail hung off the side, the very end twitching to and fro as he spoke. He played with the tracking bracelet-turned-necklace with a talon.
"Yes, you have said nice things, I like when those appreciate my work," Asuka said to the wraith. He made a mental note, she likes the compliments. Check.
"I hear ya. It’s nice to be acknowledged when you put effort into something. Though lately it seems like a lot of my sacrifices and hard work go unnoticed back home," He replied, trying to go for the Dragoness’ sympathy. Perhaps that would work to get the answers from her.
"I think your work today was important, without your keen eye, we would of gone in blind, I can see why Commander De Santa uses your talents here," Asuka said as she lay down nearby on the heated floors while she spoke to the wraith. He noticed how she watched him, observing, so sat up a little straighter.
"Your commander wasn't so sure in the beginning. No one ever seems to be when it comes to me. I tend to surprise. Glad I impressed though," replied Veyron casually.
"She runs an efficient facility, she has always been like that, ever since I've known her, she has turned me into the dragoness you see before you" Asuka replied.
“She did a fine job. Should call her an artist instead of a commander, you’re a masterpiece, Asuka,” he said, grinning at the cheesiness of his compliment.
The two of them talked at length, dancing around topics or questions that would truly reveal too much but their guard wasn’t as unwavering and steadfast as it had been before. This, perhaps, was the longest conversation Veyron had managed to hold without offending anyone outright.
“So, am I any closer to getting the answer I’m after?” he asked coquettishly, leaning forward and giving a sly grin.
"You are a clever dragon, you know how to use the words of the humans to extract information," Asuka smiled.
Veyron leaned back and put up his paws in a motion of innocence, "I’m not extracting; merely asking. Those were secrets they had a right to share. I'm hurt by it. I'm not proud of some past deeds and not happy that my past was dredged up with me unawares." He said, putting a paw across his heart as if it had really offended him.
"I see, it means a lot to you" Asuka asked.
"Yes," nodded the wraith in fake solemnity. He bowed his head briefly and closed his eyes before looking up at her, trying to show how deeply it affected him, "If I know who it is I can better protect myself. Maybe chat with them and set things straight."
This show seemed to make the dragoness relent… just a bit.
"Hrmm well let's just say they knew you pretty...least they said they did," Asuka said as the dragoness did not reveal who just yet, but there were subtle clues. This was more than enough to let Veyron fit the last of the puzzle together but still he wanted to be sure.
"6,1" and wears a size 10 shoe?" Snorted Veyron with a laugh. He knew it.
"Maybe, then again this member of your team you seem to know and somewhat like from my observations" Asuka said.
"Blues eyes?" guessed Veyron, making a game of it to see if she would play along this way. She didn’t seem to respond well to serious demands for information but this seemed to be working.
Asuka merely nodded lightly, not giving away too much.
"Dark hair?" He asked, jumping off the desk and wandering over.
"Maybe" Asuka replied.
"Yes or no answers," Veyron grinned up at her.
"That make it too easy surely, I can see I got you interested," She chuckled lightly, resting on her coils.
"Okay.... how bout... does he always have this expression on?" said the wraith, brushing his hair forward and making a stern look in attempts to make her laugh.
Asuka laughed lightly, "Very much so Veyron, isn't a happy person from my observations," Asuka said.
"Heh, he can be, when he's not trying to ruin my life," laughed Veyron, “I knew it- just had to be sure. Ardon is too busy fretting over Jack to have told you and Zyra’s too wrapped up fussing over him with the Prof in tow. Forge isn’t one to gossip. Vonriir is a damn loudmouth but I think it’s physically impossible for him to say an ill word about someone,” he said, half to himself. He had already crossed names off the list but never liked being less than 100% certain of a fact before he sunk his teeth in.
Surprisingly he didn’t go marching off right then and there, as she might have anticipated. Instead he drained the last little bit of his sake.
“So, some fireworks huh? So far this has been more like trying to light a damp match,” he snickered.
"Well...got any ideas?" She teased, wondering what wraith had in store.

Later, Veyron wandered back through the halls with a smirk across his face.
What nerve the interim commander had to go behind his back like that, he thought suddenly. Veyron had actually grown to like the man but this had been a betrayal of the mutual respect they had come to slowly foster between them.
He had some choice words and names for the man that he said under his breath as he slunk into the group quarters. It was late and the lights were dimmed all the way as he walked in. The rooms were quiet and everyone asleep. This was a wraith’s normal haunting hours and Veyron was stirring up a little trouble; Mark’s consequences for attempting to spoil the wraith’s tryst.
On silent paws he set to work…

Morning came and Forge, as usual, was the first to wake. He drank from the provided water dishes as the light slowly began to brighten in the room. He scratched under his chin and grumbled when he saw that flecks of paint still flaked off despite his best attempts to clean it all off. As silly as it might have sounded, he was proud of his sterling appearance. Silver was a colour to be proud of and one highly revered, like most metallic dragons. Gold was the only one that was above his tier of laudation. He looked over into his nephew’s room. He was curled up at the back of the space, head hidden under his wing.
It was likely one of the most difficult times the dragon had to go through. Forge was glad for the support Ardon had around him.
“Morning,” said a voice. He looked to his left and saw zyra with a cup of tea in her paws.
“Morning, Zyra.”
She gestured to the cup in her grasp, “I made it for Ardon, breakfast isn’t for another hour but he still isn’t up yet…. Do you want it?”
The great silver nodded, “Sure, thank you,” he said, even though he preferred his tea black, and Ardon’s preference was ridiculous amount of sugar and milk, “It’s probably best to let him sleep when he can get it.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” said Zyra quietly.
“You have been doing well…. Being there for him,” said Forge kindly. It was rare for the two of them, the warlord and the Boldwing, to converse at length. There seemed to be some unspoken tension between them. Perhaps it had grown after Zyra had leapt to Melina’s defence and shouted at the silver without any hesitation all that time ago but there had always been an echo of an awkward atmosphere whenever it was just the two of them. Zyra didn’t know the reason but Forge understood the reason for the tension and it made him uncomfortable.
“Thanks,” replied the dragoness, “It’s hard, I wish there was more I… we could do.”
“Understandable. We will get there. I feel like I’ve said that a dozen times over, but I still believe we’ll manage this.”
“Me too, Forge, me too.”

Veyron had played his crafty little trick upon Mark as he slept soundly, the man unaware his little comments to Asuka would be avenged by the Wraith.
Mark woke in the morning as normal, stretching he reached for his mobile which he found was not on the table top he had left it.
Puzzled he looked for his wallet which was also missing, in fact his clothes and other processions were gone as the man looked under the bed getting more frustrated as the minutes went on.
Veyron walked into the group lodgings, sticking to the common area as he spied Mark looking around for his things. He smiled to himself and sat by the hot spring pool in the middle of the room.
Finally, the American lost his cool as he shouted out having looked up at the high ceilings.
"Veyron, you little ****!" came Mark's angered shout from the quarters as he saw all his items were high up and out of reach.
The wraith made no move or no reply in return, kicking his hind feet in the water.
Mark's shout garnered the attention of the others who were awake, however, as they looked in the direction of his room, puzzled.
The man came storming out looking annoyed at the wraith, clearly not impressed.
"Only you would hang my clothes and other items up on the top where I can't reach, why the hell would you do that!" he said pointing to the items up on the ledges on the ceiling.
Veyron stood up, ready to spring out of reach if Mark came after him. He brushed his ruff back with a paw, "Well perhaps it’s because you almost messed up my night? Maybe first you could tell me why you tried to ruin a good thing?" he said smugly.
The man looked at the smug look upon the face of the wraith, confused until something clicked.
"Hah, she told you then, I wanted to warn her before you upset her, she seems a good dragoness and I did not want you pissing her off" Mark admitted bluntly.
"That's what your think of me huh? Ass," replied the wraith, jumping up some shelving and climbing to the lights above where he lounged like a house cat, looking down at Mark with a pompous expression, "Sorry to burst your bubble but your backstabbing didn't ruin my fun. So now you get to enjoy getting your clothes back."
The man was going to lose it with the Wraith until Melina walked in, hearing the commotion in their assigned quarters so she picked up the pace.
When she entered, she saw Mark pointing to his belongings all up on the upper levels, the wraith had clearly moved it all there, from what she heard, it was the Wraith’s revenge on Mark, it almost made the woman chuckle.
But she couldn’t do that now as she tried to simmer things down, last thing they needed was these two at each other when their objective was Jack’s return.
"Veyron, I am glad Mark did not ruin your fun, but I think the man learnt his lesson, never cross a wraith it seems" Melina said as Mark shook his head and wandered back into the assigned quarters briefly before reappearing after Melina called him back but the man clearly was not in the best of moods.
"Yes, could we rein in the antics? We still are on mission..." added Zyra, speaking to reinforce the professor’s words.
"Yeah, yeah," said Veyron dismissively, typical response from the Wraith.
Melina shook her head, "Right I'm going to mediate so if I'm not needed in the nursery and you two play nice, perhaps apologising to Veyron Mark" Melina said.
"That would be a sweet song to my ears," grinned Veyron, twitching his tail up in the rafters.
Mark rolled his eyes and sighed, knowing this was the only way to get his stuff back.
"Ok, I’m sorry to betray your trust, I shouldn’t have said anything" Mark said.
"Damn rights you shouldn't have. I thought we were fr-" he paused, "more amicable than that. What a wingman you are."
Mark sighed again as Melina observed the conversation.
"I made a mistake, I just did not want her to be hurt that is all, but I am glad you had a nice night with her" Mark said with verbal honesty.
"There you go caring again," replied the wraith, walking along the rafters. He stopped at mark's wallet and flicked it off the ledge down to him.
The man caught it and muttered quietly some thanks as he stood there as Veyron got his other stuff down.
Melina smiled lightly, turning to speak with Zyra.
"Well you two play nice, you coming to meditate Zy or you staying with Ardy?" the woman asked the bold wing.
"Yeah, I'll join you," said Zyra with one last glance over her shoulder at Ardon who still hadn't gotten up despite the noise.
“Well see if he is up and bring him along, I think he will find it useful” Melina said to the bold wing who seemed to agree.
At Mel's request, Zyra padded into Ardon’s room. As she got closer she could see his eyes were open.
"So, you are awake," she said.
"Yeah." He mumbled.
"Come on. Up," she said firmly, bowing him in the ribs to get him to stand.
"Moping isn't going to help. You're coming with Mel and I."
The gold didn't resist, getting to his feet and finally followed her.
Melina smiled, "We think you like this, try to clear your head, this part of Japanese culture I can get behind, mediating" Melina said to the gold as they walked towards the meditation chamber.
"Okay..." he said, thinking it wouldn't help.
The three of them made it to the meditation Zen garden, Melina picked a spot near the babbling brook that ran within the facility, the gentle sound of chimes and just the peaceful atmosphere it created.
“Here, by the brook, I put some mats down, well-spaced out so we all got room, since your bigger Ardon” Melina said showing the gold the area she picked.
Ardon watched in silence before helping pull the large mat over.
Zyra unrolled hers between his and Melina's.
"Just remember to breathe, maybe it will help you link up with Jack again?" she said quietly.
Ardon shook his head, "Only happens when I'm sleeping."
Melina overheard the conversation.
“Your relaxed when your asleep, this may put you in a trance, just give it a try Ardon…please” Melina said softly with a kind smile, gesturing to the mat.
"Okay..." the gold nearly whispered. "What do I do?"
Melina smiled a bit more, happy the gold was at least going to try it, if it was just a long shot to get the gold to relax a little.
“Ok sit on the mat and spread your wings, just like Zyra, allow them to rest and relax, take a deep breath in, hold for 3 seconds and out” Melina instructed sitting on her mat crossed legged.
Zyra demonstrated, sitting back on her haunches. In one motion she drew a deep breath as she lifted her forepaws off the ground, turning them paw up and spread her decorated wings around her.
Ardon watched for a moment before he gave it a try. This posture was fairly easy but his large wings took up a much wider space.
Melina smiled.
“Good now the next breath you do allow your eyes to close and allow your mind to listen to the babbling water, the wind chimes, just focus on them and finding out peace, allow yourself to immerse in yourself, try to relax, focus on the noise of the water” Melina instructed.
On any other day Zyra would have expected a cheeky comment, perhaps Ardon saying that this is what people do when they're bored, but today the gold just seemed to try the instruction that Melina gave.
“That is good Ardon, go as deep as you like and remember to breathe” Melina said calmly.
Ardon closed his eyes and tried to focus on his breathing and the sound of water.
After a few minutes, however, he felt a strange sort of... pull? Something was different and at once Ardon realized it was that same feeling when he had linked with Jack previously. He scrunched his eyes tighter, desperate to hang onto the strengthening link.
A moment passed and he opened his eyes.... but he did not see the gardens nor Melina and Zyra.
He was seeing through Jack's eyes again. Ardon could feel the drowsy state the man was in, weakness pulling at the man's body. Suddenly he could hear voices... far off and echoing.
The voices started to get a bit clearer despite Jack’s drowsy condition, Ardon seemed to keep the man from falling back into the unconscious state he was in.
“Has the professor got all the samples out of him?” came a female voice that was familiar to the gold as a man spoke back.
“Yes, procedure is coming along nicely, they got all they need from him, the final phases are in place, he should be ready to release, the professor noted that the bond has crossed over and its power manipulated in the cells, it is quite exciting” the man said.
Ardon tried to listen, make out any of the words spoken but it was difficult in the imperfect link. There was a new voice now, female, and for some reason it sounded vaguely familiar.
“What if it fails, this little project, is there more they can take from him?” the woman said to the man.
“Well…yes but it kill him, even his unique circumstances, he would die” the man said in response.
The woman gave a sly smile walking over to Jack, footsteps echoing as she lifted Jack’s head up.
“Well, he wont be missed, one less problem and I consider revenge reason enough for your demise Jack” she said.
Their shared vision cleared a bit, enough for Ardon to realize who was speaking to Jack. It was none other than Cayman's second in command. Ardon suddenly snarled, and in turn, their connection made the man growl as well.
The woman looked a little surprised as the man jumped as Maria laughed lightly, “Hah, so there is a fighting heart in there, well your dragon cant help you and soon……no dragon will save you once our project is done” Maria said.
Soon another person came running in.
“There’s been attack on the warehouse, forces are withdrawing to Akita province” he said as Maria seemed to get angry and punched Jack in the face, knocking the man out and breaking the connection Ardon had with Jack.

Zyra heard Ardon’s snarl, jolting her out of her own peaceful state. Putting her paws back down on the mat she looked over and saw the gold dragon was grimacing, lip pulled back in a silent growl. His breathing had quickened and his eyes moved rapidly behind his eyelids.
“Mel, Melina…Melina, look, something is happening," Zyra suddenly whispered, gently tapping the woman's shoulder with her wing tip so she'd look at Ardon. He was wavering on his hind paws, still in the sitting position. His unfurled wings shook and trembled as if he were freezing despite the room being tranquil and warm.
Melina looked and seemed surprised to see the gold glowing, "He's having another vision," She said getting to her feet.
Zyra moved quietly behind him in case he toppled over but dared not to touch him in case it brought him out of his trance. She looked worriedly over at Melina as the gold made soft, pained noises. The light of Brathille shimmered across his face and chest, glowing a little brighter just over his hearts.
Suddenly Ardon’s face jerked to the side and he let out a pained yelp before his eyes snapped open. For a long moment he didn’t move, just panted as he seemed to stare into the abyss with an unfocused gaze.
"Ardon, are you ok? What happened?" She asked him.
His eyes seemed to clear as the gold dragon turned to look at her. Terror seemed plain on his face.
“It’s okay; you’re here in the meditation room. Tell us what you saw, Ardy,” Zyra encouraged him softly.
"Maria," he managed to choke out, "Cayman's second in command from before.... she has him somewhere. He’s still tied to a chair… I think. There were other voices. I don’t know…. I couldn’t tell who they were. "
Melina looked surprised, "We need to find Jack sooner than we though, I don’t like the idea of her being involved, was there any clue to where they were?” Melina asked.
Ardon closed it eyes again and put his paws up to his face, trying to remember. All he could focus on was the memory of feeling Jack’s pain and utter exhaustion.
"Um... I couldn't see where they were but they've been using Jack as part of a project... said if it fails they'll kill him to get what they need..." He seemed to grow panicked at the thought, “They’re going to kill him….” He repeated, horrified.
Zyra tried to rein in his focus; the dragon nearly distraught by what he had seen and heard, “Ardon, we can’t help him if you don’t tell us everything you saw.”
"Any places names or any minor details Ardon?" She asked again, hoping there were more clues.
Ardon shook his head, “No, but they just found out about the raid on the warehouse. It was theirs.”
“Come on, we better tell Commander Takara what we have. It’s not much in terms of location but knowing that Maria is a part of this might give us something,” suggested Zyra. The sooner she knew the better. They made to abandon the zen garden to go inform T9 staff when Ardon stopped.
“Wait,” said Ardon, making them stop as he recalled something else, “When the man was talking about the warehouse he said their forces were retreating back to the…” he paused, trying to recall the name, “The Akita province.”
"We must find Anne and Takara and inform them of this, we need them to do recon and see if they are holding him there" Melina said.
“Come on, let’s go,” urged Zyra.

Meanwhile back in the group lodgings, Veyron had thrown off every item from the rafters, making Mark work to have his stuff back. Once all the items had been returned, the wraith hung around and watched with a self-righteous look as Mark put away his belongings. The dragon could certainly be an arrogant little **** at times but he certainly felt this was adequate justice
"Alright you can wipe that look off your face, I made a mistake," Mark said putting his stuff away.
“I hope you learned from it,” Veyron jested, jumping down onto the man’s bed, “Or else I might fall back into old wraith habits,” he said, picking up Mark’s watch and pretended to survey its shine. This was the one he had nicked from the offices a few months back and had given to the man. Funny he had still kept it, thought the shadow wraith.
"We will see about that," Mark said, "She's smart that one," he added.
“Exactly, she knows a winner when she sees one,” grinned the wraith, seemingly full of himself as he puffed up proudly.

Forge and Vonriir had been talking quietly after breakfast. The two of them had left the group quarters after Mark’s outburst. The silver did not have the patience to deal with such behaviour and did not want to be wrapped up in managing their dispute so he had left, Vonriir in tow. The large cragback had snickered on the way, shaking his head and commenting on the strange relationship the man and wraith shared.
He had noted Veyron’s near slip up, almost referring to Mark as his ‘friend’ before correcting himself. He had found that rather amusing.
Forge looked at the smile on Vonriir’s face and fought the urge to roll his eyes, “Don’t you encourage such behaviour, Vonriir. That’s the last thing he needs.”
“Sorry, sir, the little wraith can be rather comical if you’re not in his line of fire,” replied the large dragon

Just then Melina, Zyra and Ardon hurried past them as they walked back from the canteen.
“Where’s the fire?” called Vonriir.
“Ardon’s had another vision, we’re going to inform Commander Takara,” Zyra explained. Forge and Vonriir didn’t waste any time to follow them.

Melina walked briskly towards the command centre where Anne, Takara and Asuka were, observing the massive virtual screen as Takara spoke in Japanese to her staff, being updated with reports and of course any clues the warehouse raid gave to them.
Anne had also allowed Takara to gather up anything of value they could sell on the black market, Torchwood 9 did not funding, but they used this mass salvage operations and raids to bump up their earnings, with the way the facility was equipped, they did quite well with this operation.
Up ahead Ardon saw Commander Takara, Anne and Asuka and rushed towards them.
At the last moment he remembered to give the quickest respectful bow before he launched into the news he brought.
"Maria, the second in command to Cayman before his downfall has Jack. I've heard that they are moving forces back to the Akita province since the warehouse was attacked”.
Anne and Takara looked at one another then to Ardon, giving him a puzzled and sceptical look, even Asuka seemed to doubt the young dragon’s comments.
“Sorry, I just missed 5 minutes, what are you talking about?” Anne asked as Asuka seemed to frown and spoke in Japanese to Takara who smirked at the comment.
"I had another vision. I saw Jack. Maria has him and they're planning to kill him if their original plan doesn't work. After the warehouse attack they're moving their forces to Akita... whatever that is," Ardon tried again.
“Who is Maria?, what are you talking about?, Cayman who?” Takara said as Anne spoke to one of the staff to check in with their agents in Akita province.
Now that Zyra had caught up Ardon and her tried to explain the best they could the story of how they had come to know both of them. With how advanced the base was and that T9 was a sister facility to their own, Zyra thought that they would be certain to know what these names meant.
“Well, as you are aware, we were not informed of all the details, something your facility did not reveal to us, only the blooded photos on the papers” Anne replied to the team.
"I'm sure Mr De Santa can get you the detailed files," said Zyra, hoping that would help.
Anne seemed to nod and accept the answer as Takara spoke with some other staff to garner more information.
“We are checking up on agents in that area, to see if there has been anything unusual of late, especially in the last couple of hours, we also checking Yakuza communication traffic” Anne said in her usual monotone voice.
"Is there anything we could be doing to assist you?" Asked Forge
Takara replied with her usual blunt self.
“Keep out of our way while we do our work, once we know what is going on in Akita we will let you know and get you there, it is about an hours shuttle ride there from here”, Takara replied.
Forge frowned but nodded, as did the others.
"We'll be ready if you have need of us." He said.
“We will find Jack, we should hear back from the agents soon, please be ready to depart at a moment’s notice, I suggest you put on your armour” Anne said.
“You too Asuka” Takara ordered who nodded and slinked off to suit up.
"That we can do, Commander," nodded Vonriir.
"Let's go get it put on," said Ardon, turning away to lead the group.
Melina nodded and left with the dragoness as she decided Zyra would need suiting up as well, “I want you all suited up as well Zy, armour on” Melina said to the bold wing.
"Okay, Mel," said Zyra. "Will you help me get a few of the pieces on?"
Melina nodded, “Of course I will, same with Ardon, make sure you are protected for whatever eventuality, I hope you do not need it” Melina said to the bold wing.
"Same here but if Maria is somehow involved...." her words faded and she considered the possibility.
Melina was quiet for a moment.
“Do what you need to do Zyra, do not show her any mercy for if she is like Cayman you get none, Cayman….smashed Ardon up, I would never forgive myself if that happened to you” the professor said.
Zyra turned her yellow eyes to Melina and nodded solemnly. It was a difficult thing to consider but she knew that it might need to be done.
Mark looked up as the team entered and seemed on a mission, “What is the news?” Mark said noticing everyone grabbing items.
“Ardon had a vision while meditating, we told Anne and they are investigating Akita province” Melina explained.
Mark looked over at Veyron who sauntered in.
“You best get suited up Veyron, seems we be rolling out soon, if everything is confirmed” Mark advised the wraith as Melina gestured to Zyra to the armoury to put on the armour.
"Alright," replied the wraith as he followed the others to where he had stashed his things.
The whole team left for the armoury where the dragons armour was kept from the transport, it was massive enough to house all the dragons with allot of room to spare as they all began putting on their custom made armour.

The dragons gathered in the armoury and began organizing their gear. The lighter pieces of Ardon and Zyra’s outfits were brought out first and set off to the side so that they could start getting suited up. Zyra put her head through the main collar of her battle harness and had Melina clip it together snugly before she stepped into the other loops and had the rest of it clipped around her shoulders, waist and tail.
“Does that look right?” she asked Ardon, who looked up from his own progress and surveyed her harness.
“Yes,” he nodded.
After the harness was secure, Zyra had Melina help affix all the addition armoured pieces that clipped securely into place across her chest and torso, built in such a fashion that it gave her optimal protection without hindering her movement.
"I’m sort of glad I ordered you armour, it does look good on you, considering the circumstances" Melina said doing up some straps.
“It’s light too. Won’t slow me down much,” nodded Zyra in agreement, rolling her wing joints to make sure nothing was catching or getting in the way.
"I'm glad, I did want a unique armour for you, but I do hope you won’t need it, I think you stick with Ardon, and get Jack out, leave the big boys deal with stuff," Melina advised.
“Yes, that’s our prime objective. I won’t be lingering around for anything,” she assured her with a firm nod.
She turned as she heard Ardon growling to himself under his breath.
“Here, I’ll help you with that,” said the Boldwing dragoness, seeing Ardon struggle with a few of the clips now that he was mostly suited up.
“Thanks,” he said quietly as he stood still and allowed her to tighten a few straps and ensure that the armour was secure.
“Give it a good shake, make sure everything is in place,” she suggested, standing back.
Ardon braced his legs out, lowered his head and shook his harness. Everything seemed snug and didn’t rattle or appear loose, “I’m good.”
“Great, me too,” she said with a nod, “You look good, Ardy. Jack is going to be relieved to see you,” she said optimistically.
Ardon forced a smile and looked at her with his gold eyes, “Thanks. I’m just glad I get to stay gold this time, as silly as it sounds I was worried if we found him he wouldn’t recognize me as a green dragon.”
Zyra shook her head, smiling slightly, “Oh I think it would take more than a little paint to keep him from knowing when his golden goof is standing in front of him.”
Ardon looked down, fiddling with the bracers on his arms after she spoke. Kind words, yet he hoped that soon enough he would be beside Jack, no more of this horrible waiting.

Forge had managed to get everything on without much issue and was tightening the grieves on his hind legs when the professor walked up.
"How does it feel, good fit? We used all the measurements on the database, I wanted to ensure it would take the brunt of any force" Melina said.
“Still as solid as the last time I wore this,” he said, recalling the surprise he had when he discovered that she can gone and commissioned his new armour on his behalf. She was always looking out for him as much as he thought the guardianship was for the other way around, “Thank you,” he added kindly.

The wraith walked up to Mark as he crouched over his things, getting his equipment organized.
“Gimme your phone,” said Veyron, holding out his paw and making a grabbing motion with his talons.
"Why do you want my phone for? No time to call for a takeaway" Mark said opening up his sniper rifle case.
"I just need it for a minute," he insisted
"Alright" Mark said handing it over to the small dragon, "no prank calling" he joked lightly.
“Yeah, yeah. Got more important stuff to consider,” he said, unlocking the phone and tapping away on the screen. He frowned and held the phone up, as if trying to find signal. He gave a little growl and scampered away, climbing up Vonriir and holding the phone up.
The cragback paid no notice to the wraith, putting on his own armour. Massive as he was, the dragon already appeared to be rather intimidating but now appeared even more so with his armour on.
“How do you manage to lift off the ground with all of this?” asked Forge with a huff as he helped put on the heavy tail spikes.
“With a bit of difficulty but once I’m going I’ve got it,” replied the large dragon, tucking his wings back.
“As long as you can actually fly.” Muttered the silver.
“That I can, sir,” nodded Vonriir.

Asuka appeared in her armoured gear, it looked like a Kevlar equivalent but there were other bits interwoven in, "How is progress here?" She asked.
“We’re ready,” nodded Forge with a dip of his head that Vonriir mimicked, looking rather dangerous in his helmet.
Veyron had leapt off the cragback’s head and landed heavily on Mark’s shoulder, all but shoving his phone back into the man’s hands before approaching Asuka. He appeared on her shoulder, only moments later.
He smiled up as her, puffed up in his protective uniform. In muddled Japanese, the wraith complimented that her beauty matched her fierceness.... or something along those lines. It was imperfect but Veyron had made an attempt to impress her. He gave a wolfish grin up at her and awaiting her reaction.
