TLKFAMB Font Project

Recently I've been creating a lot of my own fonts. Its fun and I made a Lion King Ding's just to test out my new program. It can only be downloaded for PC users though. I haven't figured out how to make them work for Mac's yet. anywho if you want to download it below is the link file and sample image.

Now for the project idea

I thought it would be kinda neat to have a working ding style font of fursona’s from the TLK fanart message board. Yeah you guys! It would basically be like the Lion King Dings only with your fursona's. The only draw back is once I put the file into a working font it can only work on PCs ( or unstil I can figure out how to make it a Mac file.)

What I would need from you to make this possible
~ image of your fursona in a gif. or jpg. file
~ the size must be 300 x 300 pixels
~ your fursona must be a grayscale inked outline ( NO COLOR )

like the Simba image below... only remove him with your own image.


It doesnt have to be of just the face, it could be the whole body, as long as it fits within 300 x 300 pixels. Personalize it anyway you want as long as its a fursona of some kind. Like a Chibi version. Doesn't have to be a lion either, it can be a wolf, tiger, dragon.. ect... this is the message boards own ding bling! so have fun with it. The less details that are used the more clear it looks I've found out, so keep that in mind.

Also I'll take requests if you want fursona on a certain letter. Like if I did Epona and I wanted her to be on the "E" key on the keyboard.

I need at least 25 requests, if there is more interest I can go up to 70.
Deadline to submit is next Saturday night May 13th.

Yes, OC is okay to use. you can create this in any program actually as long as the file can be saved out in a gif. or jpg. file. I'm not sure what you mean by fine line though. It really helps if the lines are a little bit thick. That way small type size can be seen better.

like in the image below, line 1 is a tad too thin, you cant really see that in point 12 size font. line 2 is better but still abit on the thin side. Line 3 would be the best size and can be seen at point 12 size font farley well. The Hyena's and Rafiki in the lion king dings were about line 3 size and you can see how much more clearer they are next to the ones with a thinner line size.

also try and avoid lines like 4 and 5. See how 4 gets lighter near the bottom? when I create the vector lines the bottom of line 4 will get hard to tell where the line is. so some of the line might get deleted making your image look a little bit unfinished. So try and keep all the lines as dark as possible like line 3. Line 5 is a little bit fuzzy along the sides. while this is okay. its just going make the lines a little but more thin. if you are going to have fuzzy sides make your lines a little bit bolder.

Yes. a sketch version is okay. just make sure your lines follow the above line suggestions. Also if you were to do a sketch make sure your lines are dark and not gray. Like in the image below. The one on the Left would be too light. The one on the right would be perfect only clean up any unwanted marks. If you don’t know how to get your lines darker I can try to do it for you, but just know if I do make any changes your image is subject to look different. Basically I want you to submit the version you would like to be seen. Darker lines can make or break an image believe it or not. And I wouldnt be sure of what lines to keep or take away.

Its first come first serve on the letter requests. When images are submitted, I'm going to turn them into vectors and put them on their proper keys. So as soon as your image is turned in you can request a letter. If someone wants a R and its taken, I can do a lower case r for you if is available. I'm not going to save letters to people that say they want it and never turn in an image by the deadline. Because if someone that does turn in a image and says they want letter M and you never submitted a image but requested the letter( not to say you aren’t, I'm just saying it happens ) then its not really fair to those that actually turned in something ya know.

I think this also motivates people to submit sooner so that they can get there requested letter. I’m not much into procrastinating. Its kinda like if you want to do it, you will. If not, oh well. Then those that really want to see it happen will be apart of it and wont wait around till those that are lazing about. You’ve all been apart of contests before. You know how they work.

Also if you submitted a image and decide to change how it looks later in the week, you can. just make sure your final decision is submitted by the deadline. AND make sure I respond to it letting you know that I've seen the change.
